Please help a needy baby!!
I am here asking for the support of my fellow BigBig freebie friends...
I have a woman in my neighborhood who has a young daughter with disabilities and an infant. She has been supporting her daughter and grand daughter for the last couple of months and I imagine will have to support them until he grand daughter is able to support herself. Anyway, My neighbor was recently released from her job as she found out she has MS. They are in dire straights and I was hoping that some of you may have the Enfamil samples or any brand baby formula or coupons laying around and would not mind donating to a very needy cause. (any baby products would be great) I gave them all the infant related freebies I had and they were so appreciated, but you know samples... they just don't last very long.... If you can help at all please contact me at craftyglassfuser@yahoo.com
Thank you all so much!!!

Re: Please help a needy baby!!
If she needs baby formula, she can get it from WIC for free. She needs to check out her local resources as they are a lot more helpful than freebies.
here is some info about WIC http://www.fns.usda.gov/wic/

the wic option is a great way to get some help.....even if they cant get her in right away they will give her some formula to get her through till they can get an appointment set up........if I had some coupons or anything I sure would pass them along.....does the baby need any clothes or anything cause I might have some that I can pass along if I look through lexies closet

Please help people if you can.... She contacted WIC today and will not recieve any benifits for over 2 weeks, and that will be limited... even coupons will help them ...

Im sorry but that doesnt make sense to me, Ive come in contact with many people in dire straits that have children and everytime I sent them to Wic for help, Wic has given them cases of formula to tide them over til the Wic checks are approved(usually they leave the office with their Wic checks). They have also put people in contact with churches, charities, etc. to help with diapers and other essential items. Please tell her to contact their local foodbank and other organizations. THEY WILL HELP!! Thats what they are there for

Thats just not true, at least not here, we had to wait 6 weeks until we could get in every time. I really think it depends on the area you are in. OUr wic office only refers for food stamps...not diapers or anything else, I am guessing you are in a pretty good area!!

Re: Please help a needy baby!!
I have to agree with the other poster... Our wic department here doesnt hand out any milk or anything and they sure dont get you straight in .... I was in a bind when I had my last daughter and didnt have no money for nothing not even diapers and i still had to wait about 2 weeks before they got me in and I asked if they could give me some to tide me through and they flat out told me they DID not Do that.... and My daughter is just now 8 months old.... I guess it probably is in just certain places.......

Re: Please help a needy baby!!
I would have her contact social services in your area. They should be able to get her going in the right direction as far as where to go for help. Atleast here the have a list of resources available. They may not do the calling and hooking her up but atleast she would have a better idea of who to contact. I would also contact churches and food banks. There has to be some kind of help out there, she just has to be persistant in finding it.
Good luck
Proud Wiccan Mommy to 5 great kids

Re: Please help a needy baby!!
Most all of the foodbanks and churches here will give formula and diapers. Also, WIC here has an emergency program and they will refer you to get the formula.
