I don't think I can handle much more (Sorry it's LONG)
Last Wendsday 13 month old son was taken to the ER for an asthma attack by my SIL aka his sitter when the Albuterol treatment didn't work, the treatments the ER was doing was not helping so they admitted him and nothing was working, so they decided he needed to go to Hershey Med Center, they life flighted him because his pulse was over 200 and his oxygen was below 80 and nothing else was helping. I couldn't go with him, not enough room in the chopper. Hubby and I had to drive, but the life flight crew was wonderful they called as soon as they landed and when he was in with the doc's. When we got there the doc's were telling us he never should have been at LGH (local hospital) for more than 2 hours, I was so upset, but I knew he was getting the care he needed, he was stabilized and had all kinds of tubes and wires attached to him, but Thursday afternoon he started coming around and playing so one by one all of the tubes were disconnected whether it was by him or the doc's so we got to come home Friday. I missed 2 1/2 days of work with no pay, which stinks, but I still have the most important thing/person in my life I just love my little man!!!!!
Then Tuesday when I was coming home from work my car started overheating, but Logan had a doc appt at the family doc's office for a checkup so I had to take him, DH works on the same road as the doc's office so I took his truck. Logan's lungs are clear and all, but anytime he has a cold or he's around someone with a cold I have to call immediately.
Then Wednesday my MIL, who has been here from the Pittsburgh area since last Friday was telling my about my Rottie Rajah sleeping on the couch and something pushing out around her stomach about the size of a tennis ball and making a glurping noise, well I figured it was just gas, but I made a vet appt anyway, because she's, my baby too. So I took her Thursday and the vet figures I'm right on the gas, but proceeds to ask if she's on heartwarm meds and I said no, I've never heard of them, so he wanted to do a blood test before he gave her any preventative meds. So I gave him the ok, but he came back with the test for heart worms being negative, but in the same test they check for 2 other things, one being Lyme disease which she has been diagnosed with. I guess my MIL telling me about the gas bubble in disguise was a sign to take her in and I'm sooo happy I did, because she's not having any of the syptoms of Lyme disease yet, but it is expected after 4 weeks of antibiotics she'll make a full recovery.
Thank you for reading, but it just seems like it's a never ending battle and there is nothing I wouldn't do for my kids in a heartbeat, but I'm tired.
By the way tell me this isn't weird the night before Logan had to go to the ER I had a dream/nightmare that I was driving to SIL's and he started having an attack and I couldn't find the entrance to the ER.

Don't get me wrong I am grateful to have all my babies safe at home with me, but I'm just stressed. I'm trying to relax, but I'm on edge with the asthma in my son, we just always have to be prepared.
Thank you for the warm thoughts.

When my son was a baby he would develop "asthma like symptons" when he had a cold. He would get the croupy cough and start wheezing in the middle of the night and we had to rush him to the ER. There were many of nights where I slept on his bedroom floor next to the crib because I was scared of not waking up to his wheezing if I was across the hall. I am very greatful that he grew out of it by the time he was 3 and that it wasn't actually asthma. But I know what its like to be on edge all the time. Thank your guardian angel for watching out for your family, and also be greatful that you have a great sil/babysitter who knew when to get him to the ER and a mil who cares just as much about your 4 legged baby as you do. It seems you have a great support system right there that you know you can rely on. I said a little prayer for your family. Good luck!

So glad the little one is going to be ok, you must have been terrified. Glad the doggie recovered too. The air has getten worse with air pollution they are now saying more and more people are developing breathing problems, do you live near a big city or a polluted area? All three of my grandsons do (thy don't live near us) and they all have had breathing problems and having to have breathing treatments. We live in the mountains away from pollutants and it is not so bad here.

Ignorance is bliss but the question is can we afford it?

Sorry things have been so rough. Is your son on any proventive asthma medicians? My DS also has asthma and since putting him on a daily treatment of Pulmicort he has been so much better. Also have you ever had allergy testing done. Asthma and allergies go hand in hand. DS just had a simple allergy test done at his reg. dr. and the results were really bad (mold, dust, and dogs were the worst and he also showed sensitivity to dairy and eggs), now he is going to see and allergist tomarrow.
Hope things start brightening up for you guys~
