Online Trading Advice
I sold an Ipod to a lady. She sent the money via Paypal without Paypal's offered insurance
I mailed it out the same day. I offered to put it priority but she lives the next town over and she said it wasn't a big rush.
Welp, I guess the Ipod never made it. Now what do I do?
She wants a full refund. I don't know if that's exactly fair since I did my part and mailed her the ipod. She/I didn't insure it so now what?
I don't want her to feel burned but I don't really want to purchase another Ipod
I also had a trade for $2000 and it went ok so it's not like I'm trying to scam her out of $75

Re: Online Trading Advice
Did you use delivery confirmation? That wouldn't prove that she got it but at least it would show that you did send it. I don't really have any advice. I have never been in that situation before. Good luck!

Re: Online Trading Advice
Do you have a reciept that you sent the item to her ? Anything? If so, just scan it or copy it! There you go! Proof in the pudding!

Re: Online Trading Advice
I had issues a while back, and the lady wouldnt except my scanned receipt with her town and zip on it, as well as corosponding dates, it even had the USPS logo at the top, she said it could be a fake, I ended up just refunding the money even though she didnt get insurance. How long ago was it mailed? If you mailed it parcel post it could take up to 6 weeks to get there...good luck

Re: Online Trading Advice
if you did not get delivery confirmation and send paypal proof, they WILL DEFINATELY refund her money if she submits a claim. YOU MUST ALWAYS GET DELIVERY CONFIRMATION, it don't matter if she thinks it is fake or not.....paypal accept's it as the ONLY proof of receipt. if you can prove shipping, then it's her problem she didn't get insurance.
There is always someone bigger and badder than you!

Re: Online Trading Advice
Although she refused insurance it is still the seller's responsibility to make sure the item gets to her. If she chooses to file through paypal she'll get her money back. You could just go ahead and send her the refund, or wait for paypal to take it.

you shouldn't have sent her the scanned receipt, it would be paypal who would verify and confirm it.

Re: Online Trading Advice
next time get it return receipt requested where you get a confirmation back that shows you who signed for it right on the little green paper.im pretty sure they have a way that only the person who the package is addressed to has to sign for it(besides certified mail) ask your local p.o and see what you can do to prove someone gets a package.and this way youll have proof.

If it was the next town over, you should have just met her half way?!

A lot of people don't like to do that due to safety reasons.
