Re: Anyone besides me find this disturbing?

I don't find it disturbing. Goats are often eaten. Goats are often leashed trained. Sometimes goats are even pets. Goat meat is good eating.

Animals are animals they are not fuzzy humans.

In other nations dogs are considered consumable meat. In fact I had an aunt that woke me up to that fact that dogs are consumed. So are horses, donkeys, rabbits, alligators, squirrels, opossums, snakes, .... if you look all over the world you will find people eating things that you might find disgusting.

Just like I imagine that some nations look at beef, chicken or pork as disgusting things to eat. We really don't have much room to criticize.

Yes, farm animals are different. The kids know they are to be eaten someday.

The poem is for house pets who are part of the family. When a house pet starts to do things that are unacceptable the vet can usually help and if we have to give them up we should find a good home for them. What are we teaching our children is right.

As for cats who won't use their litter box anymore there are hundreds of reasons. They can be retrained but it takes a little time to figure it out.

Do not ever declaw cats or they will just pee on the couch instead of clawing it. It mutilates their paws and makes it hurt to scratch the litter or worse leaves them with chronic pain. I use soft claws on my cats and it covers the claws with a soft plastic cover. A much better humane alternative.

If nothing else works than let the cat be outdoors with a safe shelter to come in when it gets cold outdoors. If they are neutered they won't be a nusance to anyone.

This is not entirely true. There is a lady one street over that feeds strays because she does have a big heart and doesn't want them to starve. She takes them in and gets them "fixed". BUT they are a nuisance to us because they come over here and decide to use the area around my house with decorative stone as a litter box. It smells horrible and its disgusting. They try getting into my garage, they get into anything I have sitting outside on our porch. They use my porch furniture as beds so I have cat hair dirt all over them. I have to constantly wash it all down and clean up our decorative stone so it doesn't smell like cat. This is a pain to me and my family. Just wanted to give my point of view on this part.

Go to www.catoftheday.com and ask them how to control the cats in your neighborhood. Lots of those people recue strays and get them homes. Maybe that is what that woman could do.

We had to put her to sleep."

I really had to clench my fists to not write her back and send her the poem someone posted on here about that very topic. How sad!

OOPS!! I thought we were still talking about the op's board, not yours. Didn't mean the second woman. I thought you wanted to send it to Kyla's goat woman.
How do you tell a man is well-hung? You can barely slip your finger between his neck & the noose.
