Excited and worried!
DH and I have been ttc for 8 years. I broke down and took a test today because I am over a week late, and it was positive! I am so excited, but then again I am worried. I am currently taking verapamil for my high blood pressure and am worried about that. I have an appointment on friday to get a blood test and I will ask the doc then about it. Does anyone know of a safe blood pressure med to take while pregnant?

Verapamil: Risk Groups
Pregnant women:
Can be given (allowed even for pregnancy hypertension).
Nursing mothers:
Verapamil reaches relatively high concentrations in breast milk but it can be given.

CONGRATS!!
I was on HBP meds when I conceived DD. (Not your kind though - it started with a K) My doc took me right off it. But I didn't need it! My BP went down while I was pregnant, and stayed down for 5 years!
Glad to hear Verpamil is safe to take during pregnancy.

I'm unsure about the meds, I did find this one: Methyldopa but I don't know. Again, congrats though.

Congrats and get to your doctor as soon as possible. You want to have a happy and healthy baby and good pre-natal care is the way to go.

I was taking Altace when I got pregnant and the doctor switched me immediately to Labatelol. I only take 1/2 a tab at night and 1/2 a tab during the day.

ok ??? its friday!!, after 5pm, the drs offices are closed, they tell you the same day, so WHATS THE UPDATE ALREADY?? WE WANNA KNOW TOO??
