Re: Show the American People What Abortion Is...

Then how do you answer the girl who said she had an abortion because it was legal and she thought it was the right thing to do? Now she is suffering cause of it? If she had people around her that told her it was wrong for her and she had alternatives she would be so much better off today.

Lots of girls do not have anyone around to tell them that so they go to the abortionist and are encouraged to have it done. He gets his money and she loses her baby and lives each day in depression.

You see that is sad. It is too bad she didn't have someone she felt should could have fallen back upon to talk to.

That is where the pro-life people come in. They are there to help and support these girls. Many are located right across from the abortion clinics.

Question Reopened Thread For New Question...

    Hi,
I first made this post 2 years ago this June. I'm bumping it up to see if anyones views about this topic has changed or stayed the same. Also, someone may want to check out the site that missed it before.

NOTE: I did not reopen this thread to cause fights, so please don't do this... thank you!

Throughout school I have done more research over abortion than I had ever planned (because it was such a hot topic). It is terrible what happens BUT with that being said it is legal and I dont see that changing anytime soon. Would I ever do it??? well gosh no I was kicked out of my family when I was 20 yrs old because I got preg and wouldn't have an abortion (they were thrilled to find out the stress of being homeless caused a miscarriage). At the same time it is legal and I have had several close friends through out the years have abortions and we were ok with the agree to disagree and it never changed our friendships
    Mom I miss you already

It took me a really long time to read all of this and it was interesting to read everyone's thoughts. The reason it took me so long to read it (I am talking about maybe 2 hours) is because I am babysitting my 20 month old grandson. He is so sweet and has a tiny tickle spot up under his chin and all I have to do is touch him there and he giggles. I am so glad my daghter chose to have him. He was very much wanted and very much loved by his mom and dad and by the entire family on both sides.

I was an abused child (horrible abuse) and I always wished I had never been born. I grew up with terrible emotional issues. I got married and did not want children because I was so afraid that I would not be a good parent. I got married and, ( I was taking the pill but either skipped several or it just failed me) I got pregnant. I never considered an abortion, it was 30 yrs. ago maybe it was not legal at that time? anyway I had my baby and she was the most beautiful, loving and happy baby/ child. And did I learn my lesson NO cause 20 months later I had a boy and he also was a beautiful and loving baby/child. I have never regretted giving birth to either of them.

They both brought me and dh lots of joy and pride and yes we have had financial hardships because I chose to stay home with them and raise them and teach them my values rather than pay someone else to take care of them. They are 30 yrs. old and 28 yrs old and they both have married and my son has a son and a daughter and my daughter has the one boy that I babysit.

I am a Christian, I have only been a Christian for 2 yr. I can not speak for anyone and I will not force my opinion on anyone. I will tell you how I feel about this. I think life begins at conception. Those two cells that come togeather are alive. I think that deliberately killing those cells is murder. I know that it is easy to not think it is a human life if you are calling it a fetus or just cells but if you call it your baby, it gives it a reality that makes it hard to decide to kill it.

Do I still wish I had never been born? No because God has a purpose for me. And if i had never been born my precious children would never have been born and neither would my wonderful grandchildren. I know that the world would never have missed me or my children or my grandchildren had I not been born, but the world is a litle bit happier because we exist.

    God bless you all

hmm, I just posted a huge reply, but then had to log in again, and it was lost.
in a nut shell, I had this to say.

    I considered abortion when I became pregnant at 16. I didn't however.
My boyfriend and I really toughed it out, and now, 16 years later, we are still together, married with a total of 4 children, 3 boys, and 1 girl, ages 15, 9, 7 and 4.

We may not have a lot, we can't afford a house right now though we would love to, and that's out goal.
We live in a cramped 2 bedroom apartment on a busy street because we refuse to live in a bad neighborhood.
We can't save, and are always broke.
Our kids needs far outweight our own, and we usually go without so they don't.
I don't get any assistance except for medical from the county.
    We struggle every single day
    but more importantly
    We are together.

I just wanted to say that I may have considered abortion for 2 seconds to give myself a better life, but I chose to have my children for the same reason and to give them life.
I made my bed, I have to lay in it, and I'm loving every minute of it.

Well since I am two weeks away from giving birth there's NO way I can handle seeing pics like that so I'll just give my opinion on abortion. If you're going to do it, do it as soon as possible (in MWT there was a thread about late-term abortions or something and it was absolutely disgusting, these women's reasons were because they wanted to go to a rodeo or concert, etc.) Obviously if you get raped (especially by a stranger) you should absolutely have an abortion - what I mean by that is what are you going to tell the kid when he/she grows up, "Yeah I was raped by some guy and here you are...." If you're under 16 or so years old you probably should, no offense to anyone that had a kid at 16 and is actually still with the guy. If anyone took offense to anything I said, sorry in advance and I don't feel like squabbling with you about it.

Hi Berkley69, congrats on the soon to be baby!

I just wanted to add as well, I read an article in a magazine a few months ago, that gave all different sides of this issue, and one that touched me was an asian girl, who was raped and she actually gave birth and kept the baby. She has no regrets at all. It may not have been easy, but she did it.
It just goes to show that rape does not warrant an abortion. It can mean a baby for a couple who can't have children.
I also would like to say, I can speak for rape victims, since I was a victim as a teen as well, and although it did not produce a child, if it had, I would not have had an abortion.
I also think most people would break the news to their child gently about how they came about. I do get what you are trying to point out, so please don't take it the wrong way
anyhow, just wanted to show a few other sides as well.

I was just thinking how it would've been for me if my parents said I was the result of a rape.
