Can't stop thinking about it, Can someone give me some advice?

Okay I am in need of some advice. I keep thinking if there was really something wrong should i go to the doctor?? I have soooo many things that is "wrong" with me. I will type the everything that is bothering me at the end of this....but here is what I am asking, I go to a doctor who is very laid back, she doesn't seem to take anything serious, and even when i take my kids to her she will look at them then say yeah they have a infection and give them meds. I have went to her regarding a few of the other things below and she jus blows it off and says oh its nothing its prolly something very simple. Well all these things have gone on for so long and there are so many that if i went now and told her everything she would prolly admit me thinking I was a psycho that has lost my mind or having severe anxiety because I would walk in and say......

    Here's what is wrong/bothering me:

    I am irritable
I have headaches all the time
I have pains like panic or anixety attacks (kinda feels like I am having a heart attack, jus sharp pains in my chest)
Think my short term memory is gone sometimes
I have all of a sudden started gaining tons of weight, nothing I do will help in losing it, I jus keep gaining and gaining. (I weigh about 180 and I'm 5'6") I never feel full
I drink soda like water, always thirsty
Sometimes I get so weak I can hardly walk and have to stop and rest for a second.
    Very depressed
    Back pains
The nodes in my throat are swollen and have been for a long time
Over the past few nights my legs have been hurting really bad
    I have no energy
    I have heart palpations sometimes
I wake up sometimes in the night feeling like I wasn't breathing
I have a hard time getting to sleep, dead tired but can't sleep
now ready for the best part

I AM ONLY 24 YEARS OLD.

please anyone if there is anything you can suggest or if any of this sounds like anything you have gone through please please let me know.

you may be clinacally depressed and suffer from panic or anxiety attacks. many times when you are depressed your appetite will blow up and cause dramatic weight gain or disappear and cause dramatic weight loss. you will also become irratable and your sleeping habits will be very messed up. your swollen legs, shortness of breath and weakness could be caused from the weight gain. go to your doctor as soon as you can and if she won't help you, go somewhere else. you may want to check with a psychiatrist even. if you want to talk, you can pm me or email me at ninth_pebble@yahoo.com
i have a lot of the problems you are describing, i can relate. i am 20 by the way.
    good luck.

My bf is 29 and he has sleep apnea. He has some of the symptoms you described. He stops breathing at night sometimes. I have to shake him to wake him up. He snores VERY loud. He is always tired, because the quality of his sleep isnt good. He gets very irratable.

Also when you say you are always thirsty.. Have you been checked to see if you are a diebetic? (sp). My dad was always thirsty. I am the same way. I am not diabetic, but I think I am borderline. When I go back to the dr I am going to get my blood sugar checked. My dad had severe leg pains, and feet pain. He was also very tired too. Diabetes runs in both side of my family. My grandpa lost his legs from it. I am not trying to scare you, but these are both serious diseases. If your dr doesnt act like they care, I would change doctors.

    Hope this Helps.

I am SO sorry that you are having these problems. IT can be so frusterating dealing with doctors. Making you feel like its all in your head is just WRONG - "first, do no harm", isnt it? Have you had your thyroid checked? Your symptoms also sound a bit like chronic fatigue, which my brother suffers from. Some doctors dont believe that it is a "valid" condition, but I certainly know it is - and NO- your not crazy!! IF you cannot get your doctor to run more unconventional tests or at least look INTO them, I would concider finding another one. Sometimes, you have to insist. They are the ones with the degrees, but YOU are paying them to help you and life is TOO short to go through misery like that if there is an answer out there.
I'm not a doctor, and I not trying to DIAGNOSE your illness, just making a couple of suggestions that might be worth looking into. You can find sites online that discuss chronic fatigue( I dont have them to list off hand, but you could find them with a search). WEB- MD is a pretty good place to look up illnesses by symptoms too. Good luck and God bless, hon. Just dont give up!!

Nobody should be having all those problems, especially at your young age. I wish I had the answer but I would say to find a good doctor and hopefully they can prescribe or recommend something that may clear up some or most of those problems.

This is going to sound a little cooky to most of you, I'm sure, but look into a Chiropractic/Acupuncture clinic. I worked at one and they worked wonders WITHOUT DRUGS. We even had cancer patients come through there and get better. I used to get 5-6 headaches a day and after 2 treatments it was down to one a week. I'd check it out if I were you. If you're interested, I can try finding some resources for you.

www.doctorthayer.com is a site for a doc I worked for in IL, but he does have some links that should help you for other parts of the country.

Re: Can't stop thinking about it, Can someone give me some advice?

to answer a few of ur questions, I had a hyperactive thyroid a couple years ago, boarderline of having to take meds, lost tons of weight then after about a year it went back to normal, but now I am doubleing my weight, i had it checked again about 6 months ago when i first started gaining weight and it was ok.
When i told my doctor about my feeling like i stop breathing problem she said it was because i smoke and left it at that. I have never been tested for anything else. I have state issued insurance because i have no job and its really hard finding a dr that will accept new patients on this type of insurance. Maybe I will call her tomorrow and see if she can't run some tests for me if nothing else to rest my mind that nothing serious is going on. Just seems like alot to tell the dr at once.

If you dont feel like your Doctor is listening to you, or taking you serious then its time to find another doctor that willl listen to you and at least address your concerns. That is just my opinion.

Could you be diabetic? It is the first thing that popped into my mind. (I'm not a doctor).

Secondly, stop drinking soda. The sugar in it will make you crave more and more. You CAN stop. Make up your mind tomorrow to cut down and then gradually wean off it. Drink water, seltzer (some people call it club soda), add a lemon cut up or lime. Someday that sugary soda will taste discusting to you. I stopped drinking it about 2002 and feel so much better not to be part of the Pepsi generation. This includes stopping diet soda as well.

You would be amazed how much better you feel without soda in your system.

I am not perfect (I love sweets). But I know I am much better off w/out soda. I heard you can lose 10lbs just from cutting it out!

Good luck. Find yourself a new doctor.

    Keen9801:

Have you had any kind of blood tests done? When you go to the doctor ask them to do a finger stick and check your hemoglobin count.

I tell you this because I have Chronic Myositic Hypochromic Anemia and you have alot of the same symtoms. According to what your rbc shows, you need to have a complete anemia profile done. You could be lacking something as simple as B12. My body doesn't absorb iron, and I have to have Iron IV Infusions to keep me on a level feeling.

Hope they figure something out and have you feeling better soon.
