Thread: Ow! My eye

Yesterday DD (1) poked me in the eye and it kept getting worse. I figured that she might of scratched my cornea..( I've had corneal scratches 4x in the past).

Well I woke up this morning and my left eye was so swollen I looked like someone punched me. So i went to the optomitrist and found out that her little fingernail sliced my cornea. I got antibiotic drops and anti inflammatory drops. But I have to go back in tomorrow to make sure I don't get a fungal infection because it was a fingernail that cut my eye.

I'm going to have to wear my sunglasses everywhere because I look terrible!

ouch! I bet that hurt. A lot! I hope your eye gets to feeling better. And Hope you don't get an infection. Good luck.

my dd's are always poking me in the eyes and headbutting me, Never thought anything like that could happen. Ouch.

Thanks everyone! I have really sensitive eyes, I can't even rub them without them hurting. This has happened so many times before that my DH jokes that I should always be wearing safety glasses! LOL!

OUCH is right! Just reading this makes me cringe.. I've never had this happen and would be quite happy if I never do. I hope it gets better soon!

YIKES! Same here. My nephew was 9 months old when he got his cornea scratched, He ended up getting some kind of herpes in it and had a corneal transplant when he was about a year old... A few years later they did another corneal transplant, and it still didnt work. He is 3/4 blind in that eye. He is 14 now. I cant stand anything coming towards my eyes. I see eye surgery on tv and it makes me want to get sick hehe. I am so sorry about your eye. Hugs!
