    'DWTS': Season 19

'DWTS' cast leak: Season 19 celebrities and partners leaked before big reveal
    September 3, 2014

A "DWTS" cast leak for season 19 has fans of the reality series buzzing about the upcoming season on the Internet. ABC planned a big reveal for this season's cast for "Good Morning America" on Thursday morning, but the full cast leaked online on Tuesday. Some of the celebrities included on the new season of "Dancing with the Stars" had been rumored already, and this new cast leak confirmed those rumors. The Christian Post shared the latest cast leak on Sept. 2.

"Dancing with the Stars" is getting ready for some big changes this season. Not only will they have a new cast of celebrities competing for the mirror ball trophy by showing off their skills on the dance floor, but also this season has a four-judge panel. Julianne Hough is returning to the series for season 19, but she will not be on the dance floor. She is joining Bruno Tonioli, Len Goodman, and Carrie Ann Inaba on the panel of judges this season. This has caused some buzz on the Internet, and not everyone is happy about the addition to the judging panel.

Karina Smirnoff spoke out about Julianne's appointment to the judging panel. Julianne's brother, Derek Hough, is dancing again this year, and Smirnoff wondered about the ethics behind Julianne's judging her own brother. She said the following, according to Us Weekly: http://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-...rs-gig-2014298

“"I think she is a great girl, I've known her for many years. I think that she is wonderful, gorgeous, and talented, but I don't know if it's ethical that she is judging while her brother is competing."”
Derek did not seem to be bothered by his sister's addition to the judging panel. Julianne revealed to People Magazine that he texted to congratulate her on the new gig as soon as he heard it was official. She also revealed that he is not nervous at all about being judged by his younger sister this season. It is "all in good fun."

Derek is dancing this season, and the new "Dancing with the Stars" cast leak revealed that he would be partnered with Bethany Mota. Her claim to fame is as a YouTube star. The rest of this season's cast and their partners are as follows:

“Olympian Lolo Jones; partnered with Keo Motsepe,
Tommy Chong of Cheech and Chong; partnered with Peta Murgatroyd,
"Duck Dynasty" star Sadie Robertson; partnered with Mark Ballas,
actor Antonio Sabato Jr.; partnered with Cheryl Burke,
actor Jonathan Bennett; partnered with Allison Holker,
MMA Champion Randy Couture; partnered with Karina Smirnoff,
"Pretty Little Liars" star Janel Parrish; partnered with Val Chmerkoskiy,
"Fresh prince of Bel-Air" star Alfonso Ribiero; partnered with Witney Carson,
designer Betsey Johnson; partnered with Tony Dovolani,
race car driver Michael Waltrip; partnered with Emma Slater,
Tavis Smiley ; partnered with Sharna Burgess,
and actress Lea Thompson; partnered with Artem Chigvintsev.”
This cast list does reveal the partnerships for the three new professional dancers joining this season. Allison Holker first received national attention for her dancing skills when she appeared on season two of "So You Think You Can Dance" on Fox. She is now joining "Dancing with the Stars" for this new season. The other new arrivals to the group of professionals are Artem Chiqvintsev and Keoikantse Motsepe.

Maksim Chmerkovskiy is not anywhere on the cast list, and he is not on the judging panel. He announced that he would no longer dance on the reality series, and there had been rumors he would join the judging panel this season. That did not happen. The slot went to Julianne Hough, but it is always possible that fans could see Maksim involved with the series again in the future. He has left the show before.

This season's cast is definitely a mix. It covers from the very young with the inclusion of Sadie Robertson to the elderly with the inclusion of Tommy Chong and Betsey Johnson. This season should be something to watch. With a new judge on the panel, new professional dancers, and an entirely new cast of celebrities, this reality series is shaking things up for season 19. The new season will premiere on Sept. 15 on ABC. Tune in to "Good Morning America" tomorrow morning for the official cast announcement.

If I can pick favorites right now ... I choose "Fresh prince of Bel-Air" star Alfonso Ribiero; partnered with Witney Carson, and actor Antonio Sabato Jr.; partnered with Cheryl Burke. Ribiero is an EXCELLENT dancer. Sabato is also and great dancer and Burke is a wonderful partner & competitor.

Alfonso Ribeiro Performed 'The Carlton' on 'Dancing With the Stars'
    Oct 7, 2014, 2:11 AM ET

Alfonso Ribeiro looked to his past for inspiration on Monday's episode of "Dancing With the Stars." Ribeiro starred from 1990 to 1996 as goody two-shoes Carlton Banks on “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” alongside Will Smith. The character wore cardigans and khakis and danced to Tom Jones music, an arm-swinging move affectionately called “The Carlton.”

“Carlton was someone I had a blast playing for six years,” Ribeiro, 43, said in an interview for this week’s episode of “DWTS,” which featured the theme “Most Memorable Year.”

Ribeiro also said the role stunted his career development. “I was pigeon-holed as an actor based on that character,” he said. “There were years when casting directors wouldn't call me because they felt like, ‘Oh, well, he’s Carlton, and that’s not right for this role.’”

But Ribeiro says he has learned to embrace his role as Carlton, dance and all. “I love the Carlton dance. I love how it makes people feel. I certainly don’t do it a lot. But I love the fact that people have this nostalgic look at that dance,” he said.

Ribeiro, wearing a sweater and bow tie, began Monday’s week-four performance sitting on the sofa alongside dancing partner Witney Carson. As “It’s Not Unusual” – a song Ribeiro performed with Jones on a 1993 episode of “Fresh Prince” – blasted over the speakers, the pair transitioned to the dance floor. There, Ribeiro broke into his Carlton – arms flailing, fingers snapping, hips ticking and tocking in goofy innocence. Carson joined Ribeiro in performing “The Carlton,” too.

    The judges were impressed.

“I’m so glad that you made us wait for the Carlton,” Julianne Hough said. “Not only did you separate yourself from Carlton tonight, because we all wanted it, we all loved it, I think this show and what you’re doing each week, people are going to remember Alfonso.”

Bruno Tonioli called it a “flirtatiously delicious dancing sitcom.”

“All I can say is, finally!” Carrie Ann Inaba said.

Afterward, Ribeiro admitted that the dance was for the fans.

“I’ve been wanting to do this for them forever, and this is a moment I dreamed about for many a years,” Ribeiro said. “I went back. I went back in time.”

“The Carlton” was a hit, with Ribeiro and Carson earning 10s from the judges and fan vote, the only perfect score of the evening.

Duck Dynasty Darling Struts Her Stuff in Dance Tribute After Reflecting on Fame, Faith & Family
By Mike Miller 23 hours ago

Duck Dynasty’s Sadie Robertson, a contestant on Dancing with the Stars, reflects on life in the spotlight, and how faith and love for her family help her keep life in perspective.

Sadie talked about the downside of being famous: “They’re looking for you to mess up,” referring to the firestorm that surrounded grandpa Phil after he made controversial comments about religion and homosexuality:

“My grandpa said some things that upset some people and the press came after him. It was a bad time and we didn’t want to do the show anymore. The thing is, no matter what he would’ve said, we would’ve stood by him because he’s my grandpa. He’s my family and family sticks together.”
The young Duck Dynasty star puts it all in perspective:

“People are gonna say things no matter what. If you’re holding the football, you’re gonna get tackled.”
Words of wisdom from a 17-year-old who appears to be handling fame just fine.

Duck Dynasty’s Sadie Robertson Shares her Faith, her Family and her Amazing Dancing Skills, Earns Near Perfect Score

October 7, 2014 By Jennifer Burke

On Monday night’s Dancing with the Stars, more members of the Duck Dynasty family were involved in Sadie Robertson’s performance. Prior to breaking out in dance to a duck hunting inspired samba, Sadie’s dance partner Mark Ballas, camoflauged in duck hunting gear, was in a duck blind type area along with Sadie’s dad Willie and her uncles Jase, Jeb, and Si. The Robertson men were doing their infamous duck calls.

The music begins and Sadie and Mark dance to a specialized version of Pharrell’s ‘Hunter’ and earned a near perfect score of 37 out of 40. The dance is phenomenal, but just as amazing is the open and honest tribute to her faith and family by Sadie in the video leading up to her performance. She talks about her family’s Duck Dynasty journey including how their faith is the center of who they are, and stands up for her grandpa, Phil, as she discusses how difficult it was when the media attacked him last year.

    You will be inspired.

‘Dancing With the Stars’ 2014: Alfonso Ribeiro Wins in Season 19 Finals
Nov 25, 2014, 11:16 PM ET By SUZAN CLARKE via Good Morning America

After a hotly contested finale in which only a few votes separated the final three contenders, actor Alfonso Ribeiro emerged the winner of season 19 of ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars” tonight at the conclusion of the two-part finale.

Ribeiro and his partner Witney Carson beat out “Duck Dynasty” star Sadie Robertson and her partner, Mark Ballas, and “Pretty Little Liars” actress Janel Parrish and her partner, Val Chmerkovskiy, to claim the coveted mirror ball trophy.

Ribeiro appeared elated as he hugged Carson, and he was in tears as he talked with the show’s co-host, Tom Bergeron. “I cannot believe this,” he said. “I’ve wanted it forever … I don’t even know what to say. These are happy tears.”

Carson was beaming. “He’s one of the most hardworking people I’ve ever met,” she said of her partner, telling him directly: “You deserve it.”

Robertson, who earned second place, thanked God for carrying her through to the finale of the competition and said Ribeiro deserved to win.

Parrish, who took third place, appeared emotional but smiled through tears at her partner. “I honestly am just so lucky to be here standing next to him. You were my trophy the entire season so I’m happy,” Parrish told Chmerkovskiy.

After their two performances yesterday on the first night of the finale, Ribeiro led the pack with a perfect score of 80, followed by Robertson with 78 points and Parrish with 77 points. YouTube star Bethany Mota, who had made it to the final four competitors, was sent home yesterday during the first night of the finale.

With less than a day to prepare, the top three couples were assigned a fusion challenge in which they had to create a new dance routine that combined two contrasting dance styles. They performed the routines tonight for points from judges Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba, Julianne Hough and Bruno Tonioli.

The three finalists all earned perfect scores of 40 each for their fusion dances – Ribeiro for his cha-cha/Argentine tango, Parrish for her foxtrot/paso doble and Robertson her samba/quickstep.

The points were added to the judges’ scores from last night for a two-night total of 120 for Ribeiro, 118 for Robertson and 117 for Parrish. Those scores were combined with viewer votes from last night for a final grand total.

How They Performed Throughout the Season

Ribeiro has been fan favorite this season, and delighted the ballroom audience and viewers when he performed “The Carlton,” the quirky dance performed by the character he played on the hit TV sitcom “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.” The 43-year-old danced his way to the finals despite having suffered groin and back injuries during rehearsals.

Judges had high praise for Robertson’s improvement throughout the competition. The 17-year-old reality TV personality became another fan favorite from the moment she took the stage in the season premiere to perform a cha-cha that impressed the judges. A high point for her came several weeks into the competition when she performed a “Ducky Dynasty”-inspired samba that featured a cameo from the men in her famous family.

Parrish, 26, started the competition well and kept on improving, her scores placing her at or near the top of the leaderboard for much of the competition. Her jazz routine in week three resulted in the first perfect score of the season, but she recently injured her ribs during rehearsals and it showed in her performance last night.

The competition started 11 weeks ago with 13 stars -- including actor Antonio Sabato Jr., comedian Tommy Chong, Olympian Lolo Jones and NASCAR legend Michael Waltrip – vying for their chance at the mirror ball trophy.

Tonight’s two-hour show included live musical performances from Jennifer Hudson and Gorgon City, Nick Jonas and Meghan Trainor. Stars who had been booted from the dance floor during this season also returned to wow the ballroom audience with new routines.

Viewers also got to see an encore performance of Mota’s freestyle after Twitter fans picked it as the freestyle they most wanted to see again.
