What type of penalties do they give them when they break the rules?

To date, HouseGuest Jen Johnson of Season 8 is the first house guest to defy the slop rules, eating a turkey burger, cottage cheese, and an apple. By doing so she originally received a penalty nomination for the following week but this was later replaced with a penalty eviction vote during Week 7 due to the original punishment being found unfair to the week's other nominee Jameka Cameron. This is the first and only food penalty in Big Brother U.S. history.

Q: Live feeds watchers, in particular, often hear the phrase "penalty nomination." I've watched the show since it started and don't recall one ever being used. If a penalty nomination were to be used, how would it work? Would there be three houseguests nominated for eviction? Why aren't penalty nominations used?

A: The possibility of a penalty nomination really exists. It's an option we've yet to use. Yes, it would probably mean that there would be three nominees up for eviction. I'm glad we haven't had to use it because it would mean that a houseguest really messed up and didn't follow our rules.

so I wonder what else they use as a penalty.. because I guess Kevin got a penalty for eating a grape and saying F- it to them about it..lol

who else thinks Natalie is going to have a lot of issues with her boyfriend when this show is over?

No.. she hasn't had sex with him... but she is very jealous over him .. possessive... they are always laying around together.. she keeps close tabs on him.. she gets jealous when he spends time with Lydia... its written all over her face that she likes him..

They seem to always just say it's 'stategy' when it's all said and done (convenient)

lol.. well her boyfriend is a moron if he believes that... because she was drilling him on his answers about the "who would you want to be with on a deserted island".. and the others.. she was going off that he didn't automatically say her over Lydia...

I was thinking the other night that we haven't heard Jesse make that 'vviipp' noise that he made last season... not that I want him to, but I wonder if when he watched last seasons show, he saw how much more of an oaf it made him seem lol

Yes I just got the phone call. We have to be there at 9 am in line. They are taping the show early because of anticipated problems.

Nancy had to change her flight and is coming in at 11:00 tonight and we are headed out at 7 am on our Big Brother adventure.

Wow this is going to be some show!

Thursday, August 13, 2009: Is it Live or Memorex
Ticket holders for tonight's show have been called and told to be at the studio at 11:30AM, as apposed to the usual 3;30PM. Why? Are they shooting extra studio footage for later use? Are they going to tape tonight's "live" show so they can edit Chima going off on them? What's the deal?
Either way, there isn't expected to be very much shown on the live feeds today, it should be FotH, trivia and WBRB, pretty much all day long. So I'm going to sleep until someone calls and says "It's on!." Have a nice day
On Monday night, Chima was talking in her HoH room. Before they could go to FotH, Chima let it slip that production has been trying to get a commitment from her that if the mystery power is used on Thursday's show, that she will not 'Go off." IMHO, this means they expect the coup d'état to be used as we expect, to take Russell and Lydia down, and put up Natalie and Jessie. It also indicates that CBS has no clue how to get press. If I was in charge, I'd notify the affiliates that Big Brother may run overtime (just like a live sports event) and I'd let it play out, with Chima 'going off.' I think it's time for headlines like: "For the first time in Big Brother's ten year history, security had to be sent into the Big Brother house to pull an hysterical black women off a salesman from Chicago."
