Marty traps Todd to get payback, Asa returns to reveal the truth about David, and Puddle of Mudd performs!


With the likelihood of Todd facing any sort of jail time dwindling, Marty's need for revenge sends her straight to him, with a forced smile and false words about a possible reconciliation. Marty totally works Todd -- and he starts to believe that maybe she does still love him and wants to give a relationship a try. Under the premise of a romantic evening, Marty lures Todd to the Palace Hotel roof, where she lets out all of her hatred. John and Blair find out about Marty's plan, and rush to the Palace to try to stop her. By the end of the evening, someone is going off the roof! But it might not be who -- or how -- you expect ...

Across town, the Buchanans are gathered for a follow-up to Asa's will reading. Remember the stipulation of the late patriarch's will that gave his family one year to turn a profit? Well, even though the economy stinks, that doesn't get them off the hook. Asa, via a DVD recording made in the event of his family's failure, reveals that he's giving all his wealth to his long-lost son: David Vickers!

Meanwhile, David -- who is now a Buddhist monk -- encounters Viki and Charlie, and reveals that Dorian was the one that drugged Charlie and plied him with liquor months earlier. Busted, Dorian makes a quick escape out of town. Who does she run into upon leaving Llanview? None other than Alex Olanov, the ex-Mrs. David Vickers (and Asa Buchanan). One would think Dorian would rip Alex's lungs out given that the last time they were within five feet of each other, Alex ran her over. But Alex has information that trumps any murderous intention on Dorian's part: David's a Buchanan. We can only imagine what Dorian will do with this information.

All this, PLUS: the band Puddle of Mudd (who's had several hits with songs like "Blurry") performs at Rex's club!

A New Year ... and new temptations for Starr and Cole; Dorian learns David's a Buchanan; and Scott Clifton joins the cast!


Starr and Cole return to school after what was perhaps the worst year of their lives. But guess what: 2009 isn't going to be a walk in the park either. Are you surprised? First up on the agenda of trials and tribulations: Starr having to explain to all her classmates what happened to her baby. Meanwhile, the loss of his daughter -- and the alienation he feels from his mother, Marty -- has left Cole feeling adrift. That's why drugs seem so enticing. A different Llanview resident hasn't just been tempted by drugs, though ... he's already bought some! We really don't think you're going to believe who it is.

Scott Clifton joins the cast as Schuyler, a teacher at Starr's high school. Schuyler -- like any good new character on One Life to Live -- has a little secret ... in the form of a connection to a big event in Llanview.

Across town, Marty was successful in convincing Todd to jump off a roof (yes, literally). But Todd lands in the Llantano river, where John saves him. Marty's none too thrilled with John's actions, and ends up reviving "Marty the party girl" and having a one night stand with a familiar face. Blair, despite all of Todd's past action, is compelled to see him. We all know their connection defies explanation, given how much they've forgiven each other in the past. So when Blair goes to see a post-suicidal Todd (arguably, Todd at his most vulnerable), will the dynamic between the two shift again?

During her encounter with Alex Olanov, Dorian gets some startling information: David Vickers is a Buchanan! Meanwhile, back in Llanview, Nora, Clint and the rest of the family scramble to prevent David from finding out that Asa has willed the entire Buchanan fortune to him. Once Dorian finds out David -- her ex (and now, a Buddhist monk) -- is the richest man in Llanview, you KNOW she's gonna do something ...

All this, PLUS: Nora wants to put Tess on the stand to finally convict Todd once and for all, Sarah tells Immigration that Cristian and Vanessa's marriage is a fraud; and someone leaves town.

Can Starr save Cole? Is Jessica onto the truth about the baby switch?


The drug problem at Llanview High pulls Cole down deeper and deeper this week. It's easy to see why, since Marty's back to her old party-girl ways and tells him she needs to be away from him for a while. Nice parenting, Marty! So Cole pops some pills and gets crazy ... and actually attacks Schuyler Joplin, the new teacher (played by General Hospital alum Scott Clifton)! Starr tries to help out, but for her trouble gets caught by the principal with Cole's pills. Will Starr take the fall for Cole? More importantly, can she get him off of drugs?

Meanwhile, who'd have guessed that Matthew Buchanan could be caught with marijuana? Well, he is -- and Nora and Bo seek out who's selling these kids drugs.

At St. Ann's, Brody and Jessica continue to grow closer, as they each begin uncovering their respective painful secrets. Brody unravels the events surrounding the death of a young boy in Iraq; did he really kill that unarmed child? And Jessica combs through her memories -- not to mention her alters, Tess and Bess, who are still hanging out in her head -- to get to the truth about her baby.

Dorian continues her plot to get close to David now that she knows he's a Buchanan. She enlists the help of Madame Delphina, and even tries to tempt David with sex. But David's a good Buddhist monk and resists. By the end of the week, Dorian's at her wit's end -- and she ends up going to extremes to win David's favor.

All this, PLUS: Cristian and Vanessa finally have sex, Blair and John continue to clash over Marty and Todd, and Rex gets to have the "birds and the bees" talk with Shane. Oh, and Party Girl Marty plants one on John.

some good stuff finally coming up. I actually kind of liked Todd w/ Marty. Look at Luke/Laura they had a rough beginning w/ the rape but they moved past it to a good relationship.

Todd has his own sets of morlas that no one else plays by but he was trying to be good and change for MArty.

I initially saw the conflict and intrigue of Todd and Marty, but now, I think she's just way too broken. I think she needs to focus on repairing her relationship with Cole before she can begin to fall in love again. I can't even imagine how lost Cole must be feeling!!

Bo & Nora team up to help Matthew, Jessica admits murder, Todd might get busted, and the Plain White T's perform!

Who would have ever thought that sweet Matthew Buchanan would hit his teenage years and become such a rebel? Sneaking into clubs, buying pot ... Matthew's adjustment to high school is a struggle. But his parents Bo and Nora are determined to get Matthew back to the young man they think he should be. He might have other ideas, though.

Over at St. Ann's, Brody and Jessica come to some very separate, but devastating, revelations. Brody learns that the little boy he shot in Iraq was actually unarmed. Yeah ... and if that's not enough to send an unstable guy over the edge, we don't know what will. Meanwhile, Jessica realizes that -- following Nash's death -- she PURPOSEFULLY let her alter, Tess, take over. Why? Because Jessica knew Tess would kill Natalie and Jared as revenge. Yep, Jessica consciously allowed a murderer to go after her sister. And when Natalie finds out, she's none too thrilled.

The Llanview PD gets closer to finally getting the attempted kidnapping charges to stick to Todd. They get Janet -- Todd's right hand gal and Marty's nurse for all those months -- to wear a wire and confront Manning. Todd may actually be busted, which (as Llanview luck would have it) occurs just as he makes some headway with his children. And with Blair.

Yes, the two manage e a small breakthrough this week when Blair lets Todd spend some time with his sons. But that doesn't mean Blair and John don't get into it over his kiss with Marty. Did it spark something for John? For Marty?

All this, PLUS: Cole and Starr reach the breaking point, Vanessa may find herself in hot water thanks to Lola, and the Plain White T's perform!

Starr takes the stand -- will she send her father to jail? Dorian begins the ultimate con!

Will Starr testify against her father and send him to jail? That's the question on everyone's minds this week. It puts her right in the middle of a lady-lawyer battle between Tea and Nora. Desperate to keep Todd out of prison, Tea starts a whisper campaign in The Sun about Janet, whose testimony could seriously damage her client. Tea doesn't stop there: look for her to target Starr next. Oh, and if that wasn't enough, someone at the trial's center is found dead.

Across town, Dorian's not letting her ex-husband's new inner harmony get in the way of her continuing plot to grab control of Buchanan Enterprises. Getting creative, Dorian tells David that she's become a Buddhist, and wants to give away all her possessions -- but not before she starts the "Llanview Zen Center," which is really just a front. Y'see, Dorian wants to get David (once he learns he's a Buke) to give all his money to the Zen Center. Which she'll then keep for herself. So simple. But this is Dorian and David we're talking about. So, not really.

Cole's popping pills like they're Tic-Tacs, while Matthew is rolling joints to impress his new crush, Becca. We smell trouble coming to Llanview High.

Jessica goes in for a little hypnosis while Bess tries to control Tess. Jessica is itching to see Chloe, but Natalie is resistant (since Jessica did try to kill Natalie and all). However, Viki is more sympathetic -- and agrees to bring the baby to St. Ann's for a supervised visit. Will Tess remain repressed, or will the sight of her fake baby send her roaring out of her cage?

All this, PLUS: Jared hires Rex to investigate David, Wes has got Llanview ties we didn't know about, and Todd's life rests in one person's hands (and it's not Starr).

Todd confesses to everything to save Starr! But is he a murderer too? Plus: Rex and Gigi meet ... Gigi the stripper?

Just as Todd has narrowly escaped a jail sentence for the umpteenth time, he could be facing yet another. He's returned home to find the corpse of one Lee Halperin, former hooker -- and witness for the prosecution. Knowing this means a one-way ticket back to the slammer for her favorite client/ex-husband (after all, he had the most to gain from her death), Tea takes the fall and claims she killed Lee in self-defense. But will anyone at the Llanview PD buy her story? And more importantly: Who DID kill Lee?

Starr's not having an easy week, either. After she lied on the stand last week to protect Todd, Nora decides to charge Starr with perjury. Meaning, Starr could be in very, very deep trouble. Determined to save his daughter, Todd's prepared to confess to everything to get Starr off the hook. But once he does, does that mean goodbye Llanview, hello Statesville?

Meanwhile, Clint Buchanan heads the family's effort to ensnare David before Dorian can. Or more specifically, before Dorian gets her hands on the Buchanan money. Everyone's on the hunt for the long-lost Buchanan heir, but it looks like they're all too late -- because David accepts his ex-wife's proposal, and they catch the next plane to Vegas.

Clint sends Rex and Gigi to follow Dorian to Nevada and stop any sort of wedding. But they make an interesting discovery of their own inside a gentleman's club, where they meet a stripper (also) named Gigi, played by Guiding Light alum Crystal Hunt. Will "what happens in Vegas, stay in Vegas"? Doubtful, because that stripper is following them back to Llanview. What's the deal?

All this, PLUS: Wes may not be revealing everything about himself, Blair slaps Tea, Marty comes to a realization about John, and Lola proves to be a wild card.

Okay, who didn't love Blair today? Her slapping Tea was so necessary. You don't mess with Blair's babies!!

I just sort of feel like Tea is slipping into this Todd cloud of confusion. She came in very headstrong, putting people in their place, and playing the confidence lawyer. Now, she seems hell-bent on winning a place in Todd's heart. What is it about this man!?

I'm even suspecting she might have been the one to stab Lee. She might be willing to do anything to protect Todd...or win her case. Not sure which!
