Does anyone else like the old B&W movies??

I love watching old B&W movies with stars like Lucille Ball, John Wayne, Bob Hope, Bing Crosby, etc......

What are some good ones that you know of?

I like them as well. I like to see the beautiful dresses the women wore. They were glamorous.

I like the movie, "Some Like it Hot" That is about my fav. I like the old comedies, they kept them clean back then and I think they are funnier than the ones today that think they need to be gross.

The old Bob Hope/Bing Crosby comedies are good. I like the movie, "Rebecca" for a thriller movie. I hope they stay on so we can watch some good, classy entertainment.

When I was a teen I loved the movies you like, 3lilpigs. And I watched ALL the war movies and cried through each and every one. Today they all pretty much bore me. However I do appreciate the talent from yesteryear. My faves were Joan Crawford, Bette Davis, Gene Kelly (LOVED dancing movies and all musicals) and Fred Astaire.

I've noticed that a lot of stores seem to be carrying dvd's of old movies lately and I want to start buying some.......

so any titles you can throw at me would be appreciated.

I've heard of "Some like it hot" so that one is on my list.

I have gotten my kids interested in watching the "old" tv shows... Andy Griffith, Beverly Hillbillies, Gilligan's Island, Adam's Family, Munsters...

I don't think I've seen any old black and white movies. I saw Schindlers List, but it's not an old movie. I don't care for many musicals really and obviously I have no titles to recommend... but I will say I absolutely love the older sitcoms that started out in black and white. Since you have to actually buy them to see most of them and hubby isn't interested in spending money on them then I have to settle for recording when I can find them on... but that works too... if I watch too much I get burned out.

Some like it Hot is definitely up there. Also Impostor and Pink Submarine. All three have Tony Curtis in them. He's one of my favorites from the B&W comedy era.

Old monster movies in B&W are great..Bella Lugosi--Boris Karloff---so much fun to watch on a rainy day...

I also love to RFD and the old Roy Roger movies they show now.

We do not have actors and actress today like they did in the old days--The men were so dapper, classy and put together--Clark Gable-Bing-Fred Astaire-men wore suits and hats with shiny shoes--Even the lore of an overcoat was so sexy...

The clothes and furs and jewels the ladies wore are to die for...Claudette Colbert--Ginger--Marlena -- I could go on and on...I would love to have been an adult in the 30/40's....I love AMC when they run the old movies...
