Former Warrant lead singer Jani Lane dies at 47
http://news.yahoo.com/former-warrant...064029198.html
Jani Lane, the former lead singer of the metal rock band Warrant, has died in Los Angeles. He was 47.
Officer Sara Faden says Lane's body was found Thursday in a Woodland Hills hotel. She had no immediate information on the cause or circumstances of his death.
With his long blond hair and tight leather outfits, Lane embodied the excess of 1980s metal rock bands. He joined Warrant in 1984 and wrote such hits as "Heaven," ''Down Boys" and "Cherry Pie."
He had an on-and-off relationship with the band, leaving it in 1992 before returning and quitting again several times.
In recent years, he appeared in VH1's "Celebrity Fit Club" and made news for a drunken driving arrest.
He is survived by two daughters from two previous marriages

I was reading this last week, he was found at I believe a comfort inn in LA somewhere. They don't know the reason of death yet, just that they found a half bottle of vodka and some prescribed pills... hopefully his death is not from substance abuse. There are to many of the people that we have grown to love walking out of life because of this, I do hope it was from some other reason. I guess only time will tell. This band is a part of my 80's childhood. Where the down boys go, Uncle toms cabin..... Oh ya, and my first husband/highschool sweetheart, our song was "blind faith". I still cry every time I hear that song.
I believe alot of the "old" rockers are getting together for a tribute. I believe I shall turn up some warrant today and jam out. And I don't care what wierd looks I get from my children LOL.
