Need Computer Help

When I click on PTC sections at my sites I am not seeing any banner ads..just the words underneath "The above ad is worth 10 points"

I might see 1 banner or there are none there at all.

The only thing I did on my computer was uninstall my old McAfee and reinstalled a new free version thru Comcast/McAfee.

Any suggestions???

Cat

Re: Need Computer Help

I had the same problem when i installed new free virus protection. It was the firewall that came w/ it. Were ya doing the programs w/ IE? If not, try that.

Hi Swan...

I am doing my programs in IE. Are you saying that I should disable the firewall???

Re: Need Computer Help

Ya can try disabling just for a minute to see if that is what the problem is from. I finally had to uninstall my protection and go w/ a different one.

Re: Need Computer Help

I don't have the specifics for your program but you may try looking through the configuration for things related to graphics and email.

The new program may be trying to protect you from intrusions masquerading as image files. Similar to pop-up blockers but for images.

Gmail does this when you read email. It hides images until you specifically request them.

There may be part of the new Anti-virus scanner that does this. (Or not, as the case may be)

Perhaps, there may be a way to list specific sites as "safe", just like you can do with the pop-up blocker in IE. Or perhaps, a way to turn the feature off.

Explore a bit and see what you can find. (No pun intended)

Good luck.
