Women with absence of menstrual periods for at least 3 months, who are 18-45 years old, are needed for a research study at Massachusetts General Hospital looking at the role of cortisol and other hormones on skeletal health. Participants cannot be on oral contraceptive pills. The study includes an hour-long screening session, a two-hour outpatient visit and a 24-hour inpatient stay. Participants receive a physical examination, nutritional and body composition analyses, and a hormonal evaluation, as well as bone density, blood, urine and saliva tests at no cost.
