AA Reward Miles.....How many needed for flight?
I'm thinking about redeeming e-rewards for AA reward miles, and am wondering how much 1000 miles is actually worth, and how much you could get a typical flight for using miles.
thanks in advance

Re: AA Reward Miles.....How many needed for flight?
I can answer some of your questions.
First of all, before you redeem for an AA award at eRewards, make sure you have a qualifying flight between the designated timeframes that's shown on the site. A qualifying flight is where you booked a "paid" ticket online at AA.com. From what I was told by their customer service, if you booked your ticket over the phone, then this doesn't count as a qualifying flight. This reward is not valid if you used your AAdvantage miles for the flight, either.
As for how many miles you need, it really depends on where you go. For anywhere in the continental US, it will take 25,000 AAdvantage miles for one roundtrip coach ticket. Business and First Class are more miles. Other destinations will cost more AA miles. For example, it took us 35,000 AA miles for us to fly to Hawaii in coach.
Oh, according to AA.com, 1,000 AA miles is worth $27.50.
I hope this helps answer some of your questions.
