See I think Scientology is a legitimate religion. I may think it's a bit out there but I cannot sit there and say "your religion is crap" .......
Ok, actually I can, because I think everyone's religion is crap. Legitimate? Sure. And I think most religions are a bit out there no matter what one it is tbh...

this is EXACTLY what i was talking about in my orginal post!! he wont confront the "accusations" of certain beliefs or anything else about his religion. this is why i "personally" think its like a jim jones kind of cult. any other orgaized religion would be so happy to tell you thier beliefs and take on the bible. they would be happy to debate and invite you into your home (lol!) to talk about their saviour for hours and what they believe is truth.
thats the one big thing that scares me about this so called "religion" is that they are only willing to share parts of it with only so many people. then after they are reeled in, they are basically brain washed. but CANT share! if it was truly blessed by Jesus, why would they restrict what you share???

Well, I don't know much about it. It is def. a legitimate religion, at least to its followers. I personally think it is way out in left field but whatever works for someone. From my personal experience, i had a friend who was a follower and was always pestering me to join. But when I asked questions or wanted more info, she always put me off. Instead she insisted that I go with her to the scientology center when I visited. I took a pass for sure, I wasn't interested in it except from a what the hell is it standpoint. Maybe she wasn't typical, but from what I've seen there isn't a whole lot of answers to your questions and information, just trying to get you in.

I didn't know this myself, that it was reader built, until I worked a little bit for chacha... when I was working there (it may be different now), you weren't allowed to use wiki as a source for answers because it is reader built/wrote. I had no clue until that point.

thanks, I didn't know. I just typed in, beliefs of scientology and that one popped up and looked interesting.

very true, it was just a simple question, and if he wanted to make things clear, or explain, he had the chance, but didn't take it.
Anything can be a legitimate religion, if one believes in it. (legitimate for them anyway). I just don't see paying money to accumulate more knowledge, as in one of the links or articles (I forget where) says. If they claim that it is truth, a true religion, then money would not be involved...... not on the basis of gaining knowledge of it anyway.
