I believe in God, he is my supreme power. BUT I also believe in man's ability to F almost anything up. I think the Bible was written by man and it has all the fallibility of man, whether it be mistakes in translation and interpretation.

I guess if you "believe", then it is believable.?! Blind faith.

Proof that the Bible is the Word of God~ this looked neat, it took stories, events, cities.... archeology, fullfilled historical prophecy and proved them.

true, the bible was written by man(his diciples) with "pen and paper", but, they were lead by the holy spirit and God.... the word says that:

2 Timothy 3:16

All scripture is God breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in the righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

It's like some only take the king james version.
I like the NIV version, it all means the same, but explains it more in plain english for me to understand.

But the whole Bible wasn't written by Jesus' disciples. A man chose which books to include in the Bible and which ones not to include.

And as far as proof that the Bible is the word of God, no one can prove that. Some of the historical accounts in the Bible are true but that doesn't mean that everything written by all the authors is also true. There is no way someone can prove that Jesus walked on water, for example. (I believe he did tho, I have faith in that but I can't prove it.) I just can't believe that there have been no mis-translations from the original, penned books.

you see, right there I agree so much with you, you admitted that there's no way to prove that He walked on water, but you believe it. Why? Just because....... perhaps that feeling in your soul?

I'm not sure about mistranslations from down through the years. That would take extreme studying. Maybe theres more? I don't know, but I guess for now what's in front of my face (bible), I'll just have to take that.

Fact is you don't KNOW for a fact it's his word opposed to some drunks who sat around a fire thinking 'wow we can control the masses if we say God wrote this..yeah buddy!'...
If drunks sat around and wrote the bible it wouldn't make any sense. The bible doesn't control anybody unless the person wants to be controlled. There are many people who go against the bible just to show they are not controlled by it. Bottom line is adults need to make up their mind if they are followers or not. If they believe in God and believe the bible are His words or not. It's still built on free will.

you see, I disagree, it has nothing to do with control, it is choice, and our part on accepting if we believe and trust, follow, have faith, except.... Him. Control just sounds too controlling to me LOL.
He gives us free will, we have a choice, accept me, believe in, or don't (period), your choice. I guess the way the word control sounded and felt just jumped out at me LOL.

And you know what, theres some pretty damn smart drunks out there LOL.
