my step dad =(
My mom was in NYC for the past week and just got home, my step dad stayed home while she was away. he got a motorcycle a few months ago and apparently was riding it over this past week and crashed it while making a turn! my mom just got home and is talking to me now- my sis and i had no clue this happened! he's getting released from the hospital today, but he is really bruised and my mom says he broke a vertebrae in his back right above where he had surgery not even a year ago. if you could please send good vibes i would greatly appreciate it!
*correction he was going around a bend*

Sorry to hear that, but it's a good sign that he's being released. Motorcycles are so dangerous. I hope he mends well, he's lucky.

Praying for a speedy recover. I'm glad it wasn't worse. A car hit my husband's partner at work in the spring and he died. He was only 50. Motorcycles scare me.

It used to be much safer for bikes. if fact, I used to ride... but, seems there are soooooooooo many more cars, and no one pays attention, it's just too dangerous.
I hope he makes a speedy, 100% recovery. Ride HARD !

Thankfully it wasn't worse then what it was. Did you girls get mad at him for not calling you? LOL. Poor guy. I pray he recovers quickly and fully.

After finding out the whole story, I'm seriously shocked how he didn't f himself up worse than he did! He only had his permit for his bike and he's only had it about 4-5 months. About 2 weeks ago apparently he was speeding and the officer who pulled him over told him that he HAS to wear a helmet(he didn't have one on), despite being told that he didn't have a helmet on the day of the accident! How he didn't have any head trauma is a miracle in it's own! My mom was LIVID because he had a huge honey-do list and wasn't supposed to be out on his bike! My sister works at the same place my step dad does, and apparently the day of the accident he called off to go riding, so it could be karma getting him for that, i don't know. My mom said when she got home and found out they had my uncle, cousin, and great aunt and great uncle there because they thought she'd kill him...lol! Also my mom said that my step dad almost lost his privates and the bike somehow went up his butt??
The thing that scares me the most is that when he had his back surgery last yr from a work related accident he got addicted to the pain killers, oxycontin and percs....he won't tell my mom what the hospital gave him for this accident...and I'm worried he'll get addicted all over again! *sigh*

Hopefully he will make a full recover and will have no issues with the meds.

TY Mary! As far as I know he's recovering nicely, he's still out of work until next week at the earliest I believe.
