Nostradamus

OK, posting this here bec. I'm sure religion will be brought into this. Just curious on opinions on his ideas. History channel is having a lot of shows about him and prophecies today so was just wondering. Any believers out there?

I haven't really read that much about his predictions, but thought I heard all/or most of them have already been correct.
I am not religious,so I have no input in that regard.

I've read Nostradamus and think that anything can be twisted into be something since the language isn't precise. I'm a skeptic when it comes to these things. I think that some like to believe him because it makes it look like it's destiny or part of the devine plan so when something bad happens it gives them a sense of comfort. Like, it was going to happen anyway and there's nothing we could have done about it.

I heard he was predicting the world would end in 2012. I don't think I believe his predictions though. My husband told me he heard that on one of the shows about him.

When I was in Belize last year they talked about this saying something about the Mayan calendar ends with 2012 which signifies the end of the world. I don't believe it. It was supposed to end with Y2K.

That's kind of how I feel too.

and if you wanted to take it a step further and be "religious" about it, the bible says that no man knows the day hour or when it will happen, but we WILL know the season.
