I'm sorry for what you're going through. Its really hard watching someone with COPD and emphysema. I'll definitely pray for her and you too.

My mother needs your prayers to recover.
Thank you everyone for your prayers. She made it through the night without having to be 'tubed' as they call it and I've contacted the hospital about finding a doctor for her who will actually try to make her better instead of talking about the negative stuff over and over. Im waiting for their reply. Please keep praying for her. There are new trials going on all over to help people in her position. My mother and I had an agreement that I was to keep her alive as long as possible regardless of what the doctor's thought and there is a living well to that effect. Please pray as much as possible for a miracle recovery. Her name is carlene. Thank you. :

Please pray for my mother... getting worse
Went to a meeting at the hospital... Found out they haven't fed my mother the whole time she's been on the bipap...4-5 days, not even iv food. They're putting the tube back down her throat in the morning. There's a very small chance that she'll ever recover once they do that. They refuse to keep her on the bipap and if they did, theyd continue to starve her so there isn't any winning in this situation. Seriously the only thing that can help now is a miracle. Doesn't have to be a very big one, but at least a near miracle. Please pray hard and often. We only have a few days left for her to get well or its the end... thanks again....

Yesterday i took the day off from going to the hospital but fought from home instead, lol... Its a long story but I found research online that said those bipap machines can be used for years and they are great for advanced emphysema. That was quite a bit different then what the doctor had said so I told him 'no tube', keep her on the bipap. He wanted to argue so I hung up on him. A nurse called back and asked what did I want for my mother. I told her. I want her on the bipap, I want her fed and I want her comfortable! She said okay now you have to tell it to the doctor and I refused. She went and found another doctor, a pulmonary specialist and she said she was going to be the doctor now. I told her what I wanted. She said okay, but sounded cold and uncaring.
I got a hold of a place for washington state (medical assn.) patient safety. They were going to contact one of the heads of the hospital and let him know what was going on.
Today, the doctor was very nice. She said my mother looked good. They have added things to an iv, vitamins, potassium, etc. And they have been taking her off the machine trying to get her to be able to eat something. The only thing I don't really like is that they've taken away most of her anxiety meds and she really needs them especially while in the hospital. Now her blood pressure is extremely high (its usually never high), so they are giving her meds for that but they don't appear to be working. My mother has narcolepsy very badly and I think theyre confusing that as a result of the anxiety medication. Tomorrow I will work to get them to give her more of the anxiety meds and Im also working on involving hospice which sends a nurse to watch over patients and make sure their needs are being met.
I've decided I wasn't able to save the love of my life when he died on father's day, but I do have a chance to make a difference for my mom... Please keep your prayers going and thank you more than I can say.... Carol
