It's so hard to deal with, especially when you can't be there and are far away.
The good news, is he's in a hospital and they seem to be on top of the situation....it's lucky his condition was caught. You all will be in my prayers....

I flew down here to Tulsa last night. Dad is still in the cicu but we think the pnuemonia may be started to get a little better. He is still in afib. He is halucinating a lot but they say it is from the heart medication. He told us today they gave him a little cocaine and I couldn't help but laugh. My brother said he looked better today than he has so that is a good sign. By the way, Dad's birthday is on Monday, he will be 76.
A little kudos to American Airlines. I called United yesterday and explained my situation and asked if they would discount the $980 fare. They said yes, they could discount it to $911. So I called American and they cut the fare in half for me. All they required was that I give them the name and phone number of the hospital dad is in. Thank you American Airlines.

How wonderful they did that for you. It makes a rough time a bit better. How is he doing now? Thanks for keeping us updated. Please know you all are in my continued prayers.

Hi all I'm back home. I had to fly back home on Sunday so I could go back to work yesterday.
Yesterday they did a Cardioversion to my dad. They shocked his heart to try to get it back to normal sinus rythm and it worked. I just got home from work and my Mom had left me a message that he was moved out of ICU today into a regular room! Thank you all for your prayers, they helped sooo much.
Dad celebrated his 76th birthday yesterday in ICU.

I have read all this holding my breath. I am so glad things turned out so good. You know at 75 things can go wrong at anytime. Keep in touch with your parents and give them the time you have for them. I am glad all turned out so well. Atrial fib is scary and makes the patient feel like **** because the heart is pumping too fast to do any real work.
