For the third time, she has broken her foot. This time a new break. Now runs up the bone. Please pray that she heals right and quickly. This is the middle of softball and it's spring so can't play outside. She will drive me up a wall. We go back in 10 days for the next round of x-rays, hopefully we won't have the cast still.

On top of this the ER doctor gave my 11yr. old vicodin for pain! please pray that that stops. This is the 1st time they gave her anything for pain, with a pain level of 3 on 10 scale, they give vicodin. No wonder the US is addicted to something.

I hope you daughter heals quickly. That is a little odd that they would give a child Vicodin since it is only supposed to be prescribed for adults. You as the parent to have the choice to accept and fill the prescription. I for sure know that I would NOT fill it for my 11 year old even if the doctor prescribed it. I would definately try getting by with Tylenol first.

don't worry, the vicodin will not be filled. Tylonol works with her pain so, that just won't happen.

Is anyone checking to make sure there's not a reason she keeps breaking her foot? I hope she has an easy recovery and there isn't a problem.

With her age being 11 the reason behind all the breaks could be a growth spurt. When I was 12 I broke 3 bones in one foot and as soon as that healed I fell off the floor and broke my leg. The doctors ran tests and found nothing wrong, other than the fact that I grew 14 inches in 11 months.
