Update:

I took my son to his appointment this morning at the Digestive Clinic and they still don't know why he has pancreatitis. They had a doc in there that the pancreas is his specialty and he's clueless as to what's going on. They are doing testing now to see if he has Cystic Fibrosis. They are setting him up for some kind of xray, I don't remember its called, after hearing Cystic Fribrosis I sort of froze for awhile. Please continue to keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

I hope everything is ok. That is such a painful thing when you get an attack. I have it but mine was from an od on drugs when I was about that age it mesed it up. The damage wasn't enough to do anything about it but the good thing for me is the attacks only happen once in a blue moon now. I wish him all the best.

WOW I completely missed this. Happy Belated 17th Birthday to Jeremy. Not the best birthday but thank God is better and alive, eh? I hope and pray that they figure this out and you all can move past this and get back to the before. Hugs and Prayers.

Oh, poor baby. I just saw this & my prayers are with him (and the rest of you too). I know it's painful, DH's cousin & one of my good friends both had it.
Does he like spicey foods? That can sometimes irritate the stomach & pancreas linings.

Yeah he likes spicy food. We've been trying to stay away from that type of food just incase. The doc said yesterday that he didn't think food was a problem for him. I just hope they find out what's wrong. I have never felt so helpless in my life. I'm doing everything I can but I just wish there was more.

DH's cousin used to drink, but pretty much stopped years before he had the flare up. He used to eat very, very hot peppers & pepper sauces regularly though. He would just eat the scotch bonnet & jalepenos by themselves & would take the hottest pepper that they had at firehouse subs. This is what set him off.
My friend, also used to eat very spicey foods but had to stop.
DH told me that he had a co-worker who also had this & she too used to eat the hot peppers by themselves.

Here is a site that gives an idea of the type of diet he should follow:
