thanks for everyones prayers and thoughts and hugs,
it really means alot to me ![]() the hardest part about this is that it had nothing to do with her kidneys failing, she was getting well! she was doing great with dialysis, and had help 24/7 at home. when she went to the bathroom on wednesday, as usual since she's been home, she couldnt take her walker to the "pot" but left it at the sink and walked there with the handles my DH installed for her. Her daughter was there with her, helped her and then she fell and hit her head. Her head injury was so severe, her brain started bleeding, and swelled. The dr said it was an injury that was not survivable. They basically kept her alive until we got there to say when to "pull the plug". she was concious first after she fell, only complaining that her knee hurt. then a little after that, she said her head hurt. she then lost conciousnes in her daughters arms as they waited for an ambulance to arrive. She never regained concousnes, and was brain dead. Now my sister in law is so filled with guilt that she let her fall. This woman had moved in with her mother to take care of her, and spent almost 4 weeks with her 24/7, always there to help. She was soooo awesome in mil's recouperation of the kidneys, she would take her to dialysis, and took her to get groceries, etc. we ALL keep trying to reassure her that this kind of injury could have happenned anywhere from a personal home to any kind of nursing home or care place. anyway... thank you all again for your prayers and thoughts, they mean the world to us right now. ![]()
