The actual 'reason' behind this thread was the interesting comment that I find 'christians' making. The ebaums video post mentions the spaghetti monster, I was wondering if it was really a site. I looked...it was. AndI noticed that they had a 'hate mail' section.

The really interesting part I found was how vulgar and degoritory people could be while claiming to be Christians.

I remember, years ago, the man from California who was trying to have under God removed from the pledge of alliegence was recieving death threats from people who wanted to leave it in and stop his 'trivial' law suit. They were Christians too.

So I thought...since this is a religious discussion board we could talk about the stupid things Christian..or other religions....say.

Since we all hold religious people to a higher standard.

So....no one should feel offended.

I see what you're saying and no I don't think anyone should cuss and use God in the same sentence or threaten someones life. To me thats not trying to be a Christian. Not everyone that says they're a Christian really is. A lot of people say they're a Christian but their actions say something else.

This is quite true and obvious based on the actions of some people on here.

If you believe in a certain set of beliefs, you are of a Christan faith. But as to whether someone is a 'good' Christian or not is subject to interpretation. I know a lot of people who are Christians that are some of the the most hypocritical, mean-spirited, hate-filled people I've ever had the displeasure to speak (or post) with.

But a lot of people (on here and IRL) think I'm a 'bad' Christian because I don't believe in forcing my beliefs on others, by making laws that coincide with my beliefs etc.

Ahippie, I dont believe in trying to force my religion either. I think it will just push them away. I think love and kindness can get you better results.

I believe that religion is nice for some people.

I think religion makes some people do really strange and crazy things.

I find it interesting that some people absolutely need to have an emotional investment in the notion of a higher power.

I'm preplexed at the desire to be a part of something bigger than themselves.

I think religion (in the end) is fearmongering with a touch of need to control others.

I don't understand why people get offended by attacks on their religous beliefs.

All of us don't.
