The grandson of my dearest friend had a truck wreck. He is 27 and was going to work on the day we had about a half inch of snow about 3 weeks ago. He works for the phone company. For reasons I don't understand the highway patrol was having the 18 wheelers back up the off ramp of the interstate but had no one there monitoring the on coming traffic. Kevin slammed into the back of a backing up semi. It smashed his face, broke both femurs(thigh), cut him very badly on one arm and of course his face. He was wearing his seat belt. He is on a ventilator but they are weening him now. They kept him in a drug induced coma for a week or so to control the brain swelling but they are now letting him wake up. This very same grandson lost a brother to a truck wreck 3 years ago so that mother has already lost one son. The son who died left a pregnant wife and Kevin has a pregnant wife. This is their first baby. It is due in 3 months. Please pray for him. This is a very religious family. She has been my friend since we worked together, starting 30 years ago. We have been friends all these years. We retired 15 yrs ago and have remained best friends. Oh just for people who wonder about race relations in our house, I am white and my friend is black. Thank you for praying for Kevin and all his family. All the prayers we can get are needed and appreciated.

Poor guy. I will be praying he makes a full recovery and is there to raise his baby. Prayers for the family too. I can only imagine the pain his mother is going through to have lost one son then have this happen.

Hope you don't mind me asking but why the race relations put in? Me I don't care about race and would also wish the best to someone regardless of thier race.

I didn't think race would make a difference to someone as far as wishing the best for them. I put the race in there because in this day and age there are still so many people of both races who still find it in their heart to hate so much. I just wanted it known that we are of a different race and very different backgrounds and for 30 yrs we have been the closest friends. There was no other reason for it. Just for people to know that many people of different races can have wonderful relationships. I never expected anyone to comment on it.

I will pray for him and his family. You are right race doesn't matter. I have never read in the Bible of a white/black heaven. I think it is a great example of Gods Love that you 2 are friends.
