Need help finding a optometrist who accepts medicaid

I have a friend who is having a hard time finding an eye doctor/vision center that accepts medicaid here in Michigan. I have called a few places and havent found one...is there a place online or a phone number like 1-800-doctors but for optometrists?? Or anything online to find someone that accepts this for her?

There should be a number on the back of your card that you can call. Just tell them where you live and ask what providers are in your area. They will be able to tell you.

My brother has Medicaid. He has never had a problem finding an eye doctor that accepted it. He's gotten glasses at both D.O.C. and Sears Opitcal. We do live in the Detroit area, so our choices are abundant.

You could try calling the medicaid office that is in your area. I have never dealt with Medicaid so I assume there is one in areas of each state.

I did try calling sears optical and they said they do not accept it...and this is in sterling heights that wouldnt accept (near detroit) :(

I believe DOC said they only cover a little through medicaid.

Maybe it's the type of medicaid you have, because both Sears and D.O.C. covered all optical expenses for my brother. I think he has Total Healthcare.
