Any of You With Allergies...
...have you ever had problems with loss of sense of smell & taste? I had this for 2 weeks last month and since then my senses came back and I have had an MRI on my brain to rule out any neurological problems. (tests came back normal.) But yesterday they went down again. According to what I've read online this condition can be due to allergies and as symptoms, not treatable but just goes away in time. I have an appointment with my regular doc at the end of the month in regards to this. (appt was supposed to be next week but they called yesterday, told me they were over-booked and they had to move me back.) I would see an allergist but the guy here doesn't take Medicare and I can't afford the hundreds of dollars it costs to see him and have tests done.
Does anyone have these symptoms and is there anything you do about it or do you just wait it out? Sure takes the fun out of eating!

I had this problem years ago. Yes, mine was due to allergies. I could literally go to the fridge, get a spoon full of minced garlic, eat it, and not taste it. And no, eating was not fun anymore.
You know, I don't know what the shot was, because it was so many years ago, but I did end up getting a shot for it, right on the butt LOL. Maybe it was a steroid or something like that, anyway, my problem went away withen I would like to say 1 day. And I did not get this shot with an allergist, I got this from my regular primary physician.

I'm suffering right now, don't want to eat because of no taste and smell, also itchy watery eyes. I just sent my son
to get me some Zyrtec, and allergy eye drops. The not eating part is dangerous for a diabetic, but I drink 3 Ensures
a day to avoid that problem, but only when I'm sick..too much sugar, otherwise I drink 1 diabetasure a night, as a
snack. I've had shots before, but since the Navy has moved us all over the U.S., I find a different allergen in each state
it seems, I have given up on them, and the Zyrtec really helps...also saves my bottom from getting "stuck"...they give
me a series of shots. Anyway, I hope you feel better soon, and it is just allergies.
LOVING SMILES.
