Taking the grandkids to see the lights. Next year I hope to leave the parents at home since they would not let the kids go into the buiding to see Santa since they told them he wasn't here yet. That won't last long next year when they figure out he is everywhere, in stores, etc. LOL

    Hi Hippie, congrats davesbabydoll

It was a nice day home without having anywhere to go or shuffle anyone around to. Christmas eve with my SIL was the usual...dare I say....nonsense. I'm prepared for that.

So yes, Christmas Day was quiet and peaceful, but did not feel like "Christmas".

Since my parents have passed, things have just been "different". I feel so stressed, busy and just alone. Not that my Christmases were ever a big emotional deal, they just don't have any "warm and fuzzies". What bothers me most about that is that this is my children's childhood. It is their Christmases too and that hurts me even more.

So, not a bad Christmas, just not a heart warming Christmas. Glad it's over.

    Congrats on the wedding!!!!

My best thing about the holidays is santa coming to my house for my grandkids. Thrills me that they can have such great times even though their mom is no longer with us.

My uncle had a heart attack Christmas Eve and was taken by rescue squad to the hospital. Christmas night he had another heart attack. They told him that had he not been laying in the hospital bed when the second one happened he would have died. To me it is a great thing that God put him where he needed to be to live. He had stents put in two days in a row and is home now. My daughter got engaged on the 27th so that was a nice event. All in all 2011 was a good year for me.

This was the first holiday in our new house for my DS and I. While I didnt decorate as much as I use to, I did love how my tree looked and it was awesome to have a roaring fire going almost every night so we could sit by the fire and enjoy the tree.

Christmas Day we had to travel (as usual) to my Aunts house. Thats such a drag but the family refuses to travel to my house (even when I lived in the same state). I enjoyed catching up with my cousins and we had a TON of laughs.
    Keep your chin up!
