Need input for the pet anti-flea med "Comfortis"... would be WAY easier than Advantage !
I have used Advantage on our dogs for nearly 20 years, and, it has worked perfectly. I just went to order it for this year, and, saw a brand new item, "Comfortis", so, I read up on it.
It says it lasts for a full month, and, it is a meat flavored tablet... that would be sooooooo much better then doing the Advantage thing. No more getting it on you, scrubbing hands after etc... here's the thing; it lists some pretty bad side effects... now, I know, so does aspirin... but, if anything happened to my dogs, well, anyway, I didn't even know this stuff existed, so, if anyone out there has any experience with it, PLEASE DO TELL !
TIA !!

Maybe get your vets input on it. Personally I think I would stick with what works and you know doesn't cause any side effects.
Here are some reviews on it.

I personally use it on my two dogs every year. I don't have to use it every month and it works instantly. I will normally only need it the first warm month when my dogs get around another dog with fleas and then I dont have to use it all summer and for some reason in the fall they seem to get one or two fleas again sometimes. I have used it two summers now. It is very reasonable too. My dogs are small, so the pill for each of them is only 6 dollars. I used it last in october and my dogs have been around other animals with fleas since then and they dont get them.
Good Luck! Fleas suck!

Comfortis has its pros and cons. The first con is that it is so expensive. Also, Comfortis is regulated by the FDA so it is supposed to be given by a Vet only and the pet should be examined prior to taking the med. If a pet has had any type of seizure activity then they should NOT take Comfortis. This is the reason our office does not sell the product to just anyone that walks in off the street to buy it.
I bought Comfortis for 2 of my dogs that are rather sensitive to fleas. Neither one of them would eat the pill and since it is supposed to be chewed, this was a problem.
