We bought a new refrigerator yesterday.
I spent a lot of time researching refrigerators and then we were out shopping and I found what I wanted as far as style, french doors, freezer on bottom, no ice, or water on door, white. It was a GE for $1400. I didn't want to spend that amount. Then as we were leaving there was the same refrigerator with a 3 inch scratch on the door, marked $699. It had been there for a week. I had seen it before but felt sure it was gone. No one wanted it with a scratch. I will put a picture of my 2 grandchildren there. I guess, based on how long it sat there, no one wants a scratched one. Thrilled me. Would you buy a scratched one?

Nice savings! And, yes, I would buy a scratched one. I have done that in the past! You can always do something to hide the scratch.

Absolutely! $1400 is a heck of a lot of moolah and to get it for $699 is awesome!

My fridge is a commercial grade one that was scratched on the side. It was reduced by 75%. I have it next to a wall so no one sees the scratch. :-)

Mine has a scratch on the left side. It is totally up against the wall so no one would ever see the scratch. I bought my stand up freezer from one of the Sears distribution places that have the scratched & dented - I don't care if my freezer that sits in a utility room is scratched - again the side scratched is up against a wall.

I sure would and have! I bought my Kenmore freezer from the scratch and dent section at Sears. I have had it about 25 years and it is still going strong. I have no problem having a scratch to get a great buy. Mine is in the basement but if it were on an appliance upstairs I'd do what you are doing and just cover it with a picture.

Def. yes I would buy a scratched or dented one. Especially at Lowes because they give you 10% more off the price cause it's considered a floor model. We also still have Reese's around this area and they are one of the cheapest places to get a scratch/dent.

Absolutely...particularly when the scratch can be hidden or covered!
Never argue with an idiot. It will bring you down to his level and he’ll win because of experience.

My new stoe has a dent in the side. The side against the wall. Paid just over half the price of one without. Go figure. It works, its new, and has a warranty. If you look real hard at the top, you can see where the dent starts. Who cares? I'm happy! So congrats on the new fridge!!
