Does anyone have knowledge on trombones?

I am trying to find my DD one, this is her 3rd year in band so I am comfortable now that she will stick with it so I can buy her one instead of always renting.

I have started to look around on ebay, because I really can't afford a new one.....

Does anyone have any knowledge of these? Perhaps I can send you the links, or post them here of the ones I have saved on my watch list at ebay and you can tell me if they are any good or not.

    TIA!!

All I know is my brothers was a King - I think. It was very loud and annoying. Good luck on your search. Maybe you could ask her teacher for recommendations on which one to purchase.

If you have been renting three years with the same company check with them. I know volkweins here your rental payments go towards paying that instrument off and once its paid off it's yours.
Also, check local music stores now and maybe for the next few months and see if they have a used trombone you can purchase. From experience, I know alot of the kids start out with an instrument and then no longer want to play it so the parents give it back or it was once a rented instrument and the company repaired it and are now selling it as used condition. I got my flute for $20, but that was several years ago.

a few years ago, I bought my son a euphonium (mini tuba) off ebay: through a company called US Music Supply.
Brand new instruments, great prices, warranties, cases. The prices are wonderful.

this one from the site you posted http://shop.vendio.com/USAMusicSuppl...656/index.html
I have been watching on ebay, there are bunches of them right now, they are starting out at a penny with 30 shipping, most of them are going as high as 66 right now, so that would put it at about $100 in all with shipping. I have found some really gorgeous ones that are vintage with history with them.
Kings, holton, bundy, yamaha, and others.

Yes, both years that I rented, I rented from the same place, at the end of the year all the rent could have gone towards that one to purchase it or another of my choice. That started new every year though. I should have but I didn't.

It will be fine though, I think I'm going to find one soon, I just keep holding out for one to go cheap though LOL.
Her band teacher told me that I could rent one from the school for only 25 bucks for the WHOLE YEAR!! But, they are scag-nasty all bent up pieces of crap, and she's embarassed with the other kids...... I don't blame her.

Also, for some reason I think these are just way to cute, I may have to sneak in a bid if it doesn't go up to much.
