What are the ages of your family?
I find age such an interesting thing. As a child my grandparents were the center of extended family life. We would gather at my grandparents house for any special event. It was so much fun to gather with all the extended cousins etc.
Then after my grandparents were gone, my parents house was where we all went. Yes the crowd was smaller and it, for the most part, involved only my brother and sister and their children and my family and my children. It was still fun but not as much fun.
Now my parents are gone and I am the older generation. Gosh how did that happen? I feel the same age inside. I don't feel like I should be the older generation. When we get together, it is usually just my husband, my 3 children and spouses and our 2 grandchildren. I would like to have my parents and grandparents and all those other people back. There are so many questions I have. I am trying to write my history as much as possible for my children. I wish my parents and grandparents had done that for me.
We have gathered with my sister and her small family too.
My family consists of my husband 67, me 65 and children
daughter 45,
next daughter 42 and her husband 50,
their children 8 and 6
son 37 and his wife 40
That is not much of a family. I always wanted a larger family but health reasons prevented me from having more.
My brother is 70 and sister is 63.
Sister's family, sister 63 and husband 65.
sisters son 39 and his wife 37
their children 6 and 3
That is all of us. I want so many more.
Anybody want to take time to tell us where you fit in your family. I don't imagine many of you, if any, are the oldest now of your family. Where do you fit?

I have such a small family, so there really isn't much of a story with me! Mom has passed, Dad is still here. I am an only child with one son in grade school and a step daughter in college.
I know just what you mean when you say that you "wonder" how you became the older generation. My story that speaks to that is that I am very good friends with a couple that my parents are friends with. They have even come to my home for a weekend, and every time I am home, we get together. And that is so strange because we have an adult friendship now that I am in my 30's. So, sometimes when we are together, I think how funny it is that we talk about "grown up things" with each other!
We had us, we had him, now we have everything.

I and my husband are both the youngest of large families - I have 8 sibs and he has 6. All are married, most have kids; some of the kids are married and they have kids. My oldest brother was married and in college when I was born, I became an aunt at age 3; so it works out since I didn't have kids until late ... that my nieces have kids that are older then mine. Some of my old HS friends are now grandparents ... while my children are 14, 12 & 8. My oldest niece is turning 40 this year and my youngest great-nephew is just a few weeks old. Quite a spread. When we have family functions - it is not unusual to have 100 people or more.
Laissez les bon temps rouler! Going to church doesn't make you a Christian any more than standing in a garage makes you a car.** a 4 day work week & sex slaves ~ I say Tyt for PRESIDENT! Not to be taken internally, literally or seriously ....Suki ebaynni IS THAT BETTER ?

I am the youngest in my family of 4 and my hubby is the second to the youngest in his family of 7. I am about 63 in April and my hubby just turned 56 this month.
My oldest brother is 76, sister is 68, and another brother, 66. I was an aunt at 12. It is strange when one becomes the older generation. I don't have kids but hubby has 2 boys who are 34 and 30. The grandkids are 20 and 6 months. I babysit each day with them so am mothering late in life and really enjoying it. I have more patience now but not as much stamina. LOL

Your hubby is 2 years older than your son? YOU GO GIRL!!!
I am 7 years older than my hubby. Nice but I am getting ready for retirement and hubby will probably be working until he is 68 with the law the way it is now. No one can retire now. I want us to be able to travel, etc. Oh well.

Yes, my current DH is 2 yrs older than my son and my ex-DH (Kait's dad) is 32 also. My 1st DH was older and an abusive loser; I think that burnt me on older men, lol!
