    ? about Walmart return??

This past weekend, we bought a Wii. I bought Wii Fit Plus and it worked fine, then stopped working. So, I decided that it was not worth the money, even if I could exchange it for the same thing. So, I went to Walmart to return it.

They could only give me a new one, as their policy is that if a game is open, they can't refund. If you are not familiar, Wii Fit is a game, but it comes with a thing called a balance board, making the cost much higher than a regular video game.

My question is....now, I have a game, unopened. I have a receipt that shows the exchange. Do you think I can take this unopened one to Walmart for a refund?
We had us, we had him, now we have everything.

I think with the receipt showing a refund they probably won't do anything. But if you take it back without the receipt you should at least get store credit and they will only give you what the price is that comes up. Say you paid 200.00 for it and it is or has been on sale for say 150.00 then you would only get store credit for 150.00.
I guess all you can do is try it one way and if that doesn't work go back a few days later and try again the other way.

Thanks, Eyore. Store credit would not be the worst thing in the world, but I would just like my money back! I think I am going to just call there today, and tell them that I want to return it and explain the full situation.

I was thinking last night of just telling them, once I had my new game in hand, that I wanted to return the new game! Doubtful they would have agreed, but I should have just tried, if I wasn't too shy to do it!

Last night, it was like the blind leading the blind at the CS desk. I had a long wait while they found the game to give me, and I saw quite a few transactions. I kid you not, the store manager was hard pressed to calculate what 75% off of $7 is. He came up (twice) with $1.05 as the price to charge for a $7 item that is 75% off.

A Walmart employee was there as a customer, and she had a ton of Halloween Clearance stuff. So, when a $7 make up kit did not ring up, they were like chickens with their heads cut off trying to figure out what to charge her. So, the store mgr. happened to be behind the desk and said twice, "It would be $1.05." So, the girls were all saying, "That just doesn't seem right." So, finally I said that when calculating it, just charge .25 on a dollar. But then, the mgr. said to jut charge her $1.05 since it was his mistake.

The funniest part? After my business with them was done, I walked the store, and the Halloween stuff was 90% off, so the girl was actually charged too much on all her Halloween Clearance stuff!
We had us, we had him, now we have everything.

Your welcome, just so you know most stores are like that with games not just wal-mart.
I have a feeling you will probably have to take store credit for it or if you know someone that has a wii give the game to them as a christmas gift.
I wonder about wal-mart at times. I know there have been times I bought things and got to the register and found they were marked way down. Not that I complain.

Knowing Walmart, I bet if you took the new Wii Fit back to them (with or without the receipt) they would do a refund or at the very least, store credit. In my experience, they are VERY lenient!!!

I agree. I think they should have given you your money back in the first place if it quit working.

The thing that sucks is that with a game like that, they have to have someone from electronics come and check the box out to make sure it is all there. And then the electronics person spoke up about the 'no refund'.

    Smile

    I'm with jimswife...

We had this problem a few years back, i asked for the manager
cuz i wasn't getting anywhere with customer service rep.

Guess the reason why they won't except an opened game back
is that someone could have copied it....don't ask me, i'm puter
illiterate. Then i just stated the truth, " how will i know if it works,
unless i try it?"...the manager simply gave the money back.

    Smiles.

I've only been able to get my money back on a game, cd, dvd, if it is NOT opened, if it was opened I could only exchange it for the exact same thing. They think that you buy it, take it home and burn it, then bring it back for your money back.

on the lighter note about the halloween stuff, I was soooo thrilled yesterday, I got 2 costumes for a total of $2.80, hair spray color in a can for .20 cents each, and those big boxes of popcorn balls(18 count) for .38 cents each (I got 2).

Kudos on the good buys! I only got last night, spider webs and a pumpkin cutter. All a dime each!
