Question for Twilight fans...
My grand-daughter loves Twilight and loves to read and I am trying to find some more books (preferably a series) that she would like for Christmas.
Any thoughts?
Shes 12 so I am trying to find something that isn't too "adult" for her.
TIA!

I am not sure of the name of the author or books but I seen in walmart next to the twilight books was a bunch of books (all like twilight) written for younger adults/teens. Might want to check that out? You could also go to a big bookstore and ask the people that work there, I am sure there are plenty of people looking for books like twilight. They could give you some advice also.

Has she tried Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events? I have read the first book in that series as well as the first two in the Twilight series. While they differ greatly, they are both written for tweens/young adults and both are good reads. DS (he's 9) wants to read Twilight, but I don't think he will enjoy it as much as he thinks he will. Right now he is reading the Harry Potter series and doing quite well with it. I'm trying to convince him that he might enjoy A series of Unfortunate Events more than he would Twilight. Since it's been so long since the books came out though, you rarely find them at Wal-Mart. A bookstore should have them, or you can try ordering them online.

KUDOS TO YOU GRANDMA FOR ENCOURAGING HER TO READ!!!!
I wish everyone would buy books for presents.
I used to read at least 1-2 books every week at that age. I still read one a week.
As long as she is reading get her to try the old V.C. Andrews series. Flowers in the attic. They are pretty good. The old Judy Blume books would be real good for her too at her age. Not sure what age goosebumps books are for, my daughter read them but it was a long time ago. I think R.L. Stiner has some teen specific ones though.
I used to read everything!
Good luck!

RL Stein wrote teen books when I was a kid - the Fear Street series. My son reads Goosebumps now. He enjoys them, but they might be a bit young for a 12y/o, all depending on her maturity level. VC Andrews books are very good, but from what I remember, the Flowers in the Attic series might touch on situations a little mature for a 12y/o... am I wrong? It's been a very long time since I read any of Andrews writings, so I may be remembering incorrectly.

My son is 9 and is on book number 7 he reads one a week. He Loves them. He just goes to the library and gets them though. He's mentioned Twilight, but Im not sure he could read through it in a reasonable amount time. He reads to get points for school.

What about the Vampire Diaries, I haven't read them but I think they are geared toward young adult readers. The Sookie Stackhouse books were a fun read but there were some sexual references in those books, may be inappropriate depending on her maturity level.

Mary Janice Davidson writes a series of books about vampires. They are called the undead series. They are really funny, but not sure if they would be okay for a 12 year old or not. There is are some bad words, violence, and possibly sexual content. (I don't remember for sure.)

You can read an excerpt of the first book here. She also has a series about mermaids, but I haven't read those yet. I used to read R. L. Stine books as a teen, and V.C. andrews also.

We have lemony snickets and a few others that were mentioned. I bought her the teen series by PC Cast today. I LOVED VC Andrews books and have almost all of them (before she died) but I think the sexual content in some of them is a bit much right now.
All of my kids love to read, but my grand-daughter will start a book and nothing else exists until she finishes it. Not all kids would be excited about getting books for Christmas, but all my girls get excited when they get them
