I have severe hearing loss and my ENT wants me to learn it...now before I lose all of my hearing. I read lips-have my entire life and I dont wanna have to learn sign language. But our local community college has classes all the time. I am going to have to go, I just dont wanna! LOL

I think it would be neat to learn. It always fascinates me at how they do it and it makes words etc. And when slang is invented who comes up with the new sign?

My sister is deaf (and a pita, but that's another story) It's not hard to learn.. I learned the basics like the alphabet and common words in less than a month and the rest in about 4 months.. It takes a lot of practice.

I sigh and them some at dh sometimes!! I learned some signing years ago when I drove a school bus with special students. One was deaf, one was mute. It's not that hard to learn the basics.
