Tivo?
Anyone know the best place to buy one?
I would rather buy one in person than online if possible......
But where? I checked Walmart and they only have online. I think last year I tried kmart and target, same thing.

I know thats why I want to buy one IN person. I have priced them online starting at like $100 bucks. But for good quality probably at least $150.
And I am not a big fan of buying electronics online......

My cable company rents them also. It is worth the rental because when that sucker breaks - and I have replaced 3 in one weekend. It is nice to just take it back and get another one at no additional cost - aggravation yes cost no.

If you plan on buying an actual Tivo not DVR wait til Black Friday, best buy has great deals, a lot of years they have done where you buy it and once activated you can get a mail in rebate for the purchase price.

Cool, will have to check it out. Cause we don't have cable.
Thought tivo might be easier.......but now wondering if just getting a digital vcr/dvd player is the way to go? The only reason I want one is we have to use the stupid digital box to record stuff.

Be careful on which Tivo you buy if you get one. I have the TiVo Series2, (bought at Circuit City about 3 yrs ago) works with cable or satellite. I think you might need the Tivo HD because it works with an antenna which does cost more. You might want to check out http://www.tivo.com/dvr-products/home/index.html to make sure which one you need. I thought about getting Tivo HD but I want to keep my satellite which the Tivo HD does not support.
