sore throat remedy?
Jon's sick and says his throat is killing him. I know about the hot tea and honey remedy, but he hates tea. I also know that gargling warm salt water can help, is there anything else anyone does to alleviate a sore throat?

Well if he doesn't like tea, try warm water with honey or warm water with honey and lemon mixed in.
How about herbal teas maybe he would drink them with honey mixed in.

depending on his age, try the chloraseptic spray. It has benzocaine I think as a numbing agent. We had something last year that made all of us get bad sorethroats. Thinking it might be strep we went to the doctor. They gave us a prescription for something the doctor called magic mouthwash. That stuff works! Hope your son gets better soon!

I got this remedy from someone on here, and it actually worked wonders for me last time I got sick(so thanks for whoever posted it)
It was drinking pickle juice.
I used the Claussens kosher kind, and it made a world of difference.
I hope he feels better.

It's just how they are....but WE are the weaker sex LOL sure we are...anyhow...my mom used to make this for me, and later on for my kids....she would mix soft butter/margarine with a lot of brown sugar and have me eat it. It really did work.

I also heard that pickle juice works, vinegar as well. I had my tonsils out as a kid, that cured it for me. If you have any liquid benedryl, that will make it feel better.

honey (big gobs), water (1/4 cup), cinnamon stick with a lil lemon juice (1 tsp.) all boiled up together. Cool it down and do it a spoonful at a time.
