I hunt the boards for deals I belong to groups like Kraft genral mills Psst and several other I get coupons and sometimes I save more then I spend. I plan my shopping trip if that means 3 stores in one day so be it. I can food shop for a family of three for about 200.00 a month. I agree with the above poster going out to eat way more expensive. I work odd hours so I am not always home for dinner what I do is buy the value paks of meat and put them in baggies and freeze them piece by piece. Takes more time yes saves money you betcha.

Yup I agree with everyone..Im not a huge penny pincher but I take what I can get. Like for example one store here had Pepsi 2 liters for only 69 cents last week so we stocked up. Thats like what 2 or 3 big drinks compared to one medium drink at mcdonalds(sorry im not sure what the price is)? When you find things on sale especially at a good price or have coupons get ALOT of it! Dont just buy 1 or 2 things it may seem like alot at the time but it will save you a ton of money over time and with you living by yourself and taking advantage of coupons and sales and such I bet you could go to the store and stock up once then barely even spend a dime to restock. Beats payin $5 here and $5 there on fast food

i do work at a fast food place-pizza hut-i do get to eat free, and alot of times i will bring home a pasta ,or a salad-i do have food in my fridge-alls i was saying is that it is cheaper for me to eat out-i dont eat alot 0f meat.so to stock my freezer would not be smart for me. yes gas cost money, but as i'm going home its on the way,so it doesnt cost more. was just asking people how they save a buck-maybe i should eat more AT home.but it just doesnt make sense when i eat twice at work-i'm always happy to learn how to save a buck or two though-so maybe when i retire(ha'ha)i can take the vacation of a lifetime.

How do you do that? I use so many coupons and I still spend $550.00 or $600.00 a month on groceries. Please Help me lol I would love to know how you do it.

For one I dont buy junk food..( no soda, chips, cookies, candy)..that adds up quick.I dont shop when I am hungry, and I dont bring the kids..
I shop mostly super walmart, use coupons, and watch the sizes to see what is the better deal...I use free coupons..I stock up when I see free deals, and B1G1 deals..
I also only go 1 x a month...except to pick up milk or bread...
**If I get a item and I dont like it,it is bad, I complain about it...I write the company and they usually send me out a free item coupon...I figure I spent the money on it, I deserve it back..(now dont get me wrong I ONLY do this when an item is bad).

I feed my family of 5 (sometimes 6) on $200 a month including diapers AND I share with my inlaws. This is 3 meals a day since I pack my dh and kids lunchs too. I love cellfire.com, shortcuts.com, pgesaver.com and coupons.com loadable coupons. I combine them with paper coupons and have multiple store cards. I never pay more then $5 for 2 jumbo packs of Huggies.

Our schools food drive is coming up and both my older 2 are set on their donations of 30 items each. I didn't pay for anything I'm donating out of pocket. In fact I bought it for the overage to use on things like milk and meat.

I save money by shopping gocery stores that offer double and triple coupon values, they are all within a few miles from me.

Check the sales flyers before shopping and buy only what I need.

    Shop at the dollar stores.

    Check the clearance racks.

Use coupons or special offers from restaurants when going out to eat.

I do almost all of the above.I also always add water to last of bit of shampoos, dish detergent, etc. You can always get at least one more use out of them. With things like skin cream, ketchup etc.I always leave them upside down when they are getting low, there is always a lot left over that would be wasted.
If I know I am not going out or anything I wear the ripped, worn out jeans to save wear and tear on the new ones.I try very hard to use rags instead of paper towels unless dealing with something nasty like puke or raw meat.
I use the plastic bags from the food store as bathroom trash liners, each morning I change the bag and use the full one to scoop the cat litter.
I recycle whatever I can.Not only is it great for the environment,it saves on trash bags too.
