computer program help/question
I have a new program that somehow got installed on my computer that I know I didn't download. It is called Antivirus Pro 2010.
Anyone know what this is & how to get rid of it?
TIA!

Good Luck. We had to wipe the whole thing clean and now I still can't get the computer up and running.
Best of luck!

If you have XP or Vista try doing a system restore as far back as possible and hopefully that will get rid of it. And warn DS not to download anything NO matter what the pop up says.

My dad got that program installed on one of the computers recently. The only way to remedy the situation was the Malwarebytes software. haha I thought I was going to go insane until I found the Malwareware software. Good luck!

I love malware bytes, that's why I went straight to their forum to find help.

Whatever it was it is now gone, TG! When I logged on just now I got a notice that McAfee found & isolated a spyware program & that little balloon-notice thing is now gone as well.
Thanks everyone.

Trust me - it is not gone if you only relied on the anti virus. Get the Malwarebytes, run it, restart your computer and run it again. What you got is actually a trojan taht pops up like antivirus and fools the user to think that a virus was detected, when you click ont he clean program, it runs releases the trojan. Antivirus is NOT enough.
Malwarebytes is free and runs quickly.

Thanks everyone. I ran the malware & found 8 items & then ran it a second time & the program I wanted to remove was gone EVERYWHERE! WHEEW!!!
Many thanks! I just tried to download the same program on my computer at work & McAfee's was not having any of it. Weird & bad computer.
