anyone have or ever have a

papillon puppy (dog)? we always tend to end up with pure bread dogs that people get and then realize that they, for some reason, canoot handle them. i research them, got the jist on their behavior, but the only thing i have noticed is that they say they are not recommended for small children, or around other dogs. well LUCKY sems to get along fine with my smaller grandkids and my big black lab. i never even heard of this breed of dogs before, but they are soo cute, big ol' ears that stick up and no more than 10#'s. big differance over my big lab. my 4 yr. old grand daughter calls them the little one & the big one. he's almost 1 yr. old so he is still in that chewing stage, but is house broken. so if anyone that may have one or have more insight on the breed, could you tell me a little more something about your experience or knowledge about them? thanks
oh, and he likes to snip (light bites) trying to break him of that?? any ideas??

Nope never had one but googled to see what it was. Cute little dog.
It does say that as long as you don't let the dog think he is the pack leader to humans then they are good with children. Also says they can be hard to house train.

My neighbors have a Papillion and its a stubborn little chit. LOL It does act like it rules the roost even though their other dog is a Doberman and will take on my 3 Siberians any day!!! Their dog seems pretty good with kids but it does tend to nip at them if they are running around and making noise. One thing I have noticed is that it likes to be outdoors and has a lot of energy!!! If they want it to come in they have to chase it down.

I believe they refer to this breed as "butterfly dog" due to the shape of their ears. cute!

My sil has 2 of them.Frankly I don't trust them around my 4 yr old, they just seem really snippy to me.I don't usually worry too much about dogs that I know but I am afraid he is going to get bit.Not sure if that is how all of them are,but I don't care for these 2 at all.
good luck!
