A GALLON OF MILK FOR $1.53, unreal!!

As most of you know I'm in Utah watching my grandsons while my daughter teaches. We went to the grocery store last night and I could not believe my eyes! $1.50 for a gallon of milk!! On Kauai in the Hawaiian Islands it is $8.00 a gallon. I walked through the whole store with my mouth hanging open. You can sometimes get milk in Hawaii for $5-$6.00 if you find it on sale.

Now if the houses would just sell and Randy, my father-in-law and fur-babies could get here everything would be great. I'm so glad to be off that rock in the middle of the ocean I do realize I will have to return one or two more times when the house sells but I won't have to stay I don't even mind the 115 degree weather here. My son and his wife will be driving down next week to see us. They live in Clinton, Utah so I guess its about a 5-6 hour drive. I can't wait.

I always heard the cost of everything in the Hawaiian Islands was so high. Never been there but would like to go. I'd hate to see how much a hamburger from McDonald's.

I freak out when a gallon of milk is over $3.00 sometimes I will buy a ½ gallon for $1.29 (walgreens)

Wow! That's incredibly cheap. I pay around $3.99 a gallon give or take a few cents.

I just got back from the store. It was 2 gallons for 3.89. Washington is fairly cheap too.

Yeah, I usually get 2 gallons for about $3.70, sometimes cheaper. Of course you have to buy 2 to get that prices but I'm okay with that. We go through enough milk

Aloha - I'm glad you're able to visit your daughter and grandsons

Isn't that the truth. Rice/soy milk is disgusting to me so every once in awhile I will splurge and get lactose free, Sam's used to carry it for pretty cheap... no more. Now I rarely ever drink milk. Anyways going OT here

Shirl, welcome to the mainland! I hope your house sells soon so you and your whole family can make it here and not have to pay so much. Have you guys bought a house here or are you waiting til yours sells? Exciting! I cannot wait til we're able to buy another house LOL I'm so over this one
