Today is the day! I wish you luck and will say a little prayer that it goes easy and painless! I wore braces for almost 3 yrs. I recommend the wax they sell at drug stores and ambasol(SP). I think if I had to get them later in life it would be more painful. Congrats also!

I am so thankful my parents did have them put on my sisters and I. I notice peoples teeth before I notice anything else on their face. Congrats and you never know it might not be as painful as you think. I loved the rubber bands they put in and they sometimes would fly out of the mouth when I would talk.

Oh Jackie that is so wonderful! My two youngest kids had to have braces. They said it hurt each time the dentist would turn the wire and I just gave them some non aspirin and it seemed to help. Our oldest son got my teeth and didn't need braces. The other two took after Randy who should have had braces but for some reason his parents never got them for him. They had the money, So congrats on a new and beautiful smile You need to post a photo after they come off

Congrats!!! I am happy for you. Heres a little tip. I use to stop by Burger King after the boys ortho appointments and get them milkshakes. The Ortho said it helps with the wires, makes them more flexable or something. It also helped them with the tightening that hurt them a little.
