How did the switch go for you?
The big switch for the TV's was supposed to be this morning. How did it go for everyone?
We lost a few channels when they went digital. Lost CBS, and ABC. Don't understand that. But at least we still get FOX and NBC.
At first I thought crap maybe we wasn't ready. Then NBC and FOX came in. Yeah I had a blonde moment and I'm not blonde lol.
I've heard that the signal wasn't going to be as strong. Anyone else heard that?
Maybe that's the problem. Can't think of anything else. We had a perfect picture on all channels before. Not one problem pulling in the signal.

they also say to give it a few days, to keep rescanning.
I scanned once and got 44 channels, then scanned again 1 hour later and only got 27
shouldn't have done that

We've had cable and the only thing I have noticed is that the prices are sky high for cable anymore.

6.3
8.1
8.2
8.3
11.1

43.1
44.1
44.2
44.3
44.4
47.1
52.1
52.2
52.3
note, I will have to go through and skip some of these, as 3 or 4 of them are spanish, and some are religious... and paid programming.
But this is really neat I think, I'm just use to getting the basic channel 2,6,8,23,and pbs.
all of the 2.1,2.2, 6.1........ are all different also, like the 6.3 is 24 hour movies, I got about 3 different weather channels, a 24 hour cartoon network. Reall neat for me! And on 6.3 they have the old shows on like th a team, incredible hulk, the adams family... they also have some kind of untamed sports channel
After skipping over the ones I don't have, I'm left with 28 channels

yes - dtv is a much weaker signal. I lost several of my local stations too. also never had a problem with analogue. What is left pixilates every few minutes and cuts out, or has strange noises, ringing, sirens, buzzing; I spent $40 on a much recommended, indoor/outdoor multidirectional large, ugly that does not work any better than any other, a $30 amplified indoor antenna. Now I pay more for electricity for the two convertors and the antennas, have double sets of remotes, lost the capability to program my VCR"s while watching another channel, and have ugly cables and antennas all over. I woke up last night to white light. I had used the convertor box timer to rurn off the tv. it turned off the box, but tv still was on. Turned off the tv and woke again to the green light from the antenna. I had taped over most of the convertor box lights prior. What a freakin nightmare! I have rescanned and readjusted so may times it is rediculous.

Dang I want all those channels!
No Spanish channels here or 24 hour movies and thankfully no religion ones either. We use to get the 24 hour cartoons and the Retro channel, they were cool.
Every couple of hours I rescan. Nothing yet. DH is going to move the antenna around. Never had to do that before. Our picture was better than my Moms and she has cable.
On the bright side DH is happy though about losing channel 11. No more Oprah LOL.

Wow, are we all supposed to get a lot of new channels? Or only some areas? I just get the 4 networks, PBS, and a religious channel - well, with .1 .2 etc. it's actually 4 religious channels. I deleted those - boring. There is the movie channel someone else mentioned on 6.3, and I have 4 channels of PBS, which is cool when it is coming in; but otherwise my .2 etc. channels are just sports or spanish. I think I have 14 total, I hope I'm gonna get 40 some, that would be sweet!

It does help to rescan, We couldn't get Fox or NBC until we scanned several times. Now its working great. Moving the antenna helped too.

Alot will depend ON your antenna etc. Also Even if stations were ALREADY running digital they may have switched frequency causing problems etc.
It may be just like when you used rabbit ears you have adjust things around or else wait a few days. Things will take time to "adjust" etc. Stations are probably still adjusting their frequencies etc. So there can be alot of explanations. We use a OUTSIDE antenna here and have no problems. Still have all the same channels we had. Just lost an analog that we were getting before.NO biggie. We have not yet picked up any new ones either....
