At home...we are fine as we have cable...plus, since the entire house is wired for cable...we have TV's in several rooms.
At work, I had a little cheapie b/w TV at my desk and I used it to watch All My Children on my lunch hour. I can't do that anymore...(sigh)

I hooked up my converter box last night, was about ready to throw it out the window. Alls I have is an indoor antenna and so far can only pull in channel 5.1. I'm so not happy

we have an indoor antenna also, but it is the kind you plug in the wall/outlet. It's a magnavox smart amplifier, really nothing fancy, as I do on some channels sometimes have to go and move around the rabbit ears on it. Maybe it's cause I live on a hill?
I know if I have my tv on the east side wall, I don't get in channel 8 and 2, but if I move it on the other wall, I get them in.

Hey surfergal what's the brand and model of your antenna so I know not to buy it?
I've had converter box and amplified antenna for awhile but I'm tired of trying to watch TV and losing signal or having it pixilate every time a plane flies overhead. It's much worse since the transition. Supposedly I'm close enough to broadcast towers not to have to have a special antenna.
The power usage thing did disturb me so I have TV, converter, box, DVD player, etc. plugged into a power strip with an on/off switch. Now I just have to figure out how to eliminate all those remotes. It's too confusing with everything using a separate remote.

our bedroom is a tv with a built in vcr/dvd, and also has the converter box to it. I went out and bought a universal remote for it, because the convertor box remote got misplaced and we couldn't change the channels etc..made sure to get the one that has all, (CABLE,SATELLITE OPTION~~this works with the converter box)dvd, vcr. All in on. The only thing that I can't do with it is program channels, thank goodness we have the converter box in the living room that is exactly the same, so I just brought that remote into the bedroom to program it. But I can change channels using the sat.&cbl option on the universal remote, and work the tv, vcr, and dvd player.

We have cable here so we didn't notice much, and at my friends house there is satellite. My dad however got the converter box, the free one that was on here awhile back, and he hasn't stopped complaining yet. He claims that he can't get as many channels. He only got 2 before and I know he gets more now. I can't tell if he is really having problems or just likes to complain.

I had to go to Mom's and rescan the box. But she lost a few. I am going to try to rescan it again today.
She has the digital antenna and the box... so don't let them try to talk you into needing the digital antenna. It doesn't make a difference at all.
The universal remote idea is great. On mom's tv you have to change channels with one remote and the volume with the other.

It went well here, but we have cable. I don't personally know anyone who has the antenna or box thing, so I don't know.
I hope for all those having issues, that it gets resolved soon and without too much hassle.

We have satellite and digital antenna, the converter box is a RCA from Walmart and it's ok. We did pick up more independent stations, which I like, but have to turn the antenna sometimes.
