I agree with you 100% bell peaches! My first husband was run off the road into a stone wall by someone who only had 3 drinks! He suffered in the hospital for about 11 hours before he passed away at the ripe old age of 26.

That says it all right there. Read it, then read it again.

not sure about other states, but here
you are given the embarrassment of displaying WK plates on your car (whiskey plate)
automatic suspension of DL
high reinstatement fee
possible jail time
fines
fees
court costs
MADD
plus you aren't allowed to drink alcohol
there may be more, but I can't think of any more.
Maybe this will make think you think twice about driving after drinking; even a "few"

It sounds like you're more concerned about saving your own ass instead of thinking about the possible victims you could have killed and what it would have done to their families instead you come on here thinking about how it only effects you
I don't give a **** if it was 1 drink that's 1 too many as far as I am concerned the cop should have hauled you off to jail right then
shame on you
My mom 6/08/1944 -3-16-2015

My son was pulled over for a DUI and he lost his licenses for 1 yr and had to have that thing installed in his truck at his expense for 1 yr...After the yr was up and the readings were all clean from that machine ( I call it the blower cause he had to blow in it everytime he drove to make sure there was no alcohol ) he had to go in front of the man at Secretary of State and beg to get them backk.Very long process and alot of $$$$ for something stupid he did,,,Good Luck & Im in Mi

ok, don't everyone scream at me at once........... but, are you ALL saying that you, or your spouse/BF/loved one have never drove home even after just 1 beer? Or a glass of wine with dinner after eating out? Even in your youth? I mean, believe me, I am not making any excuses for getting behind the wheel at all, but....... anyway, can't explain it.
Ok, let me brace myself.... scream away (ducking for cover LOL)

Wine gives me the worst headache LOL . No I havent driven after having a beer, because I get so sleepy after drinking just one. My husband never has either,I guess that is because he doesn't drink. Having one drink is one thing, but having 3 and driving is different. I don't know of anyone that drinks one beer, wine ,or one glass of whatever that will blow over the legal limit. Drinking and driving leads to so many lost lives and heartaches.
A dog is not almost human , I know of no greater insult to a canine than to describe it as such.

As my mom would say "If all your friends jumped off a bridge would you follow?" It really doesn't matter if any of us or none of us have ever driven home after having a few drinks. The fact remains that you did and you got busted for it. Now own up, take responsibility, grow up and don't do it again. But don't try to pull the old "But she did it too!" bit that a I would expect of a whiny teenager who was caught sneaking in after curfew.
I was about ready to come on here and say that the bright side is that you will likely never be in this position again. Then I saw your post and instead of accepting the consequenses of your actions and being responsible for your own behaviour you started defending your position by trying to point fingers. Now I just don't know. Please, stop making excuses. You got lucky. You really did. Consider this a wake up call.

We are not talking 1 drink here. Sorry We are talking were they thought it was OK to drive home after drinking. No I am not saying I have never done anything wrong. I am saying mine or someone else's child sister brother aunt uncle mother father grandparent could have been on the road when they were. Just minding their own business (sober) and could have been hurt , been paralyzed put in ICU or god forbid DEAD. because someone got behind the wheel of their car after drinking. Not only that why the h*** didn't they call 911 when the friend was being strangled. Sorry you see someone being strangled you call for help. Had to have been drinking after the fight because you can not break up a fight holding a beer. Then proceed to say was upset for friends safety. So they got in their car with an open container. Which they denied drinking and then left the FREINDS house worried for the friends safety. I am not saying none of us have never broken the law. and two wrongs do not make a right. Plus who comes on here and tells a public forum what they did. They could have looked up the info on line themselves. In her post she says She is not a drinker. So I know the 3 quote 3 beers they had must have been making her feel pretty good. Should have known not to get behind the wheel. She was able to get a friend to pick up her car after she got arrested. Why not call that friend before then to pick her up. Plus Me my sisters and other family members have always been told if you drink call one of us we will pick you up no questions asked. I tell my Sons if you drink call I will come no matter what time no yelling screaming nothing (that night) I will wait till morning. There is no excuse for drinking and driving. NONE at all. It has nothing to do with what we may or may not have done. Or what a relative may or may not have done. It is the here and now that counts. Did the crime do the time. Pay the piper . I think you get the point.

And do you know why the police never believe the 2 to 3 beer thing--cause that's everyones standard answer(LOL). DH is a policeofficer and the stories he tells are amazing. Noone ever speeds, is ever drunk, always has insurance and tags, ect, ect, ect. And people are always nice and polite to police too(LOL). I told him that he should write a book about all the dumb stuff people say and do. And I agree with the others on here--drinking and driving are stupid. And another thing (probably will won't go over real good(LOL), are people that think they can text while driving. Sure, only it takes up the whole highway for them to do that............

And the police never believe the 2-3 beer thing and Breathalyzer's don't lie. Anyway, good luck in court.
