Sorry I can't remember who posted this idea. But I am on board, Thank-You again for the idea.
On tax day April 15, 2009 I am going to quit smoking. That's right I said it, and even put it in writing lol.
This last tax increase has made up my mind. An increase of 158% in tax, so I can pay for more people's children to go to the doctor. No, Not Me, Not this Time! I can't go to the doctor myself WTH. Don't get me wrong, I Love Kids. I just don't think I should have to pay their doctor bills.
I know we have some smokers on here. Who will take this HUGE step with me? I've been smoking for 30+ years so this is a HUGE step for me.
I figure at any given time, there is someone on this site. We would have each other to talk to and help out. It doesn't matter if you smoke, come in and help us members out that are trying to quit. Any words of encouragement or advice, from anyone, will be helpful. It won't be easy. But together we can do this. Just remember "Yes, We Can"! lol.

I don't smoke, but I wish you the best of luck. I know I have watched others do it and I know it can be done. Good luck and I'm proud of anyone who chooses to stop! Way to get healthy and SAVE money.

Call the quit line at 800-QUIT-NOW to find out what your state offers or you can look at the map here http://1800quitnow.cancer.gov/services.aspx to see what each state offers. Some offer just counselling, some offer the patch and/or meds. It is free, and they do help.

Glad you are not going to be paying those heavy tax fines any longer. That is the best way to fight a tax yet. Also good luck to you & any others (including Luvbigrip) I quit cold turkey in Jan 2000 and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Just remember you can win this one!!!!!!!
