So my baby is 18 now...
I spent the day running like a mad woman so until now I haven't had the chance to sit down and dwell on the fact. But Holli is officially 18 and I think I want to cry
She opted for a small party with 5 of her closest friends here for home made pizza, then presents and cake and ice cream. Which I am very thankful for because it would have been stressful playing Ms Manners with her birth father and her Godmother, who is in the midst of a nasty divorce and her actions have caused everyone to side with her soon-to-be ex.
Why do they have to grow up?

I feel your pain!!!
My "baby" will be 18 on March 21!!!
we started celebrating already -- went to Famous Dave's with her email from them and had the All American Feast free.
Next weekend a bunch of us (invitations sent, and a few BBS members will be there) are going to Texas Roadhouse for steak dinner (that was her pick for restaurants)...
the following weekend her grandparents and cousins are coming from NYC to spend the weekend with her.
I dont wanna cry but think I probably will

I feel your pain! My baby's 18th was sooo hard to take. Now he's 28 and married. I'll always miss the old times, but look forward to the future too (maybe grandchildren)???

Yeah, I've been Ok until now, it was a hectic day. Now I'm sad. She was such a teeny baby. So pretty and happy and good. She's much the same as she ages, but I miss my little snuggly.

I forgot how sexual kids of this age are. You don't want to think that you've forgotten what it was like to be a kid, but you do. One of her girlfriends wrapped her presents (4 4-packs of energy drinks, including Bawls) in pages from the Victoria's Secret catalog, one girlfriend gave her a huge box wrapped in duct tape, the box was almost full of candy or all sorts, a Barbie with strict instruction to NOT take her clothes off, a pair of handcuffs and something else I can't recall. I think it says a lot that they were comfortable sharing their gifts in front of the parental units, but it still shocked me a teeny bit. In my eyes they are so young and naive, even tho I know better.
