Since times are tighter now......have you gotten more frugal?

A 36 year old woman from Colorado cuts the lotion bottles in half to make sure she gets all of it. She also salvages bagel scraps from her 2 daughters aged 2 and 3 plates and uses them for pizza toppings.
Seems to me a little extreme on the bagel crumbs.............

Totally agree about the bagel crumbs. Sounds icky to me. I knew someone once, I caught her scraping the ketchup off the kids plates back in to the bottle. GROSS!

I don't have any tips on saving any money. Sorry!

I absolutely have been more watchful....but.....food leftovers from a 2 & 3 years old? They slobber saliva and coodies on everything they touch....no way would I do that.....:

LOL, I wash out my zip lock baggies, only if something gross like frozen meat or something wasn't in them, I wash them out with soap and water, dry them and re-use them. And absolutely NO ONE can use my paper towels to blow there nose, this irritates me to the end.!!
when I was growing up whenever we would get to the bottom of the shampoo or conditioner bottle and you just can't squeeze that little bit left out, my mom would add a little bit of water, shake it up, and get that one more use out of it.

I've rewashed baggies at times if it's not too gross but I don't reuse them for food......

My Grandma did all but the toilet paper. She lived through the depression and she learned to stretch a penny. If nothing gross has been in a freezer bag I will wash it out and reuse it. Now the food scraps sounds like a pretty gross thing. I think there would be a big potential of getting sick from them. Oh, I also remember she made her own cleaners from vinegar and this was before it was the in thing to do. She brushed her teeth with baking soda. When I'd spend the night I'd not look forward to brushing my teeth. You know though she had her own teeth when she died at 83 and they were in great shape.

I do that with the shampoo bottle. I can't stand to see that little bit in the bottom go to waste.

I just cut a lotion bottle open two days ago, out of curiosity -- I was surprised how much more I could scrape out of it...about 1/4 cup. That's a lot of lotion clinging to the inside of a bottle.

My MIL is 93, and lived through the depression, as well as being a military wife at one time, so she's all about frugal. But I don't think she would do the scraped food thing...

I used to put a nearly empty shampoo bottle upside down on another to get the last drops out. Now they have those blankety blank blank lids that you can't get off. So I do have an old syrup bottle with a removable lid that I use to drain shampoo bottles in.

I dont consider myself frugal at all but there are a lot of people out there that are......I used to have to wash the freezer/storage bags out when I was growing up and I REFUSE to do so now lol I get them so cheap that I dont see a need to wash them......I am awful when it comes to getting to the end of a bottle of lotion, shampoo, conditioner and things, I just throw them out......I get em free or cheap and have tons of others that I dont see the need to frugalize over them.
